Yes but would they not have to pay him & a replacment manager if he was on gardening leave.

They have united & spurs to play by December 2nd & are 6 points above the bottom 3 with a manager who without actually saying come & get me clearly wants to leave.

The players will be very aware of this & if the club aren't careful this could turn very sour for them. Few injuries particularly to the goalie & there owners reluctance to do a deal will land them in it.

Will be 9 points as we play tomorrow and are playing at home to West Ham. Our goalie?? Gomes is ok although we have loads of good players now. Our squad is deep. We have no worries re staying up - unlike some lol

Don't be so naive you simply put a player with the under 23's for a while then if he gets his head right bring him back in not a variable option with a manger is it.

What do you think Any employee who has a manager expressing a desire to leave does? Erm my boss wants to leave why? What am I doing here? Maybe I should leave?
This is not a good situation when team spirit & togethernes is key to succes.

It is exactly a viable option. That's what gardening leave is. The price of paying up Silva's contract for 2 seasons is peanuts compared to PL revenues, and if I were Watford's owners it would be worth it just to [Poor language removed] us off.

Yes we are a smaller club than you. I've said that all along. However it is also fact that all premier league clubs now have big money. Gone are the days where we can be bullied into selling at fees larger clubs dictate and you can't deny that. We bought squad players in the last window at £8m per pop are we really going to release are manager for a meagre £10m of course we're not going to.
You've took it all on the chin lad, gotta respect that. You do talk total waffle though. £50m? 'avin' a bubble, mate!

Watford are playing with fire mate. This is not a stable club who are used to sticking with managers through signs of trouble. They've lost 4 in a row and have a dressing room full of players who throw the towel in when it looks like a manager will leave (see their last 5/6 games for the previous 2 managers).

We have a competent manager in situ. If they drag this out much further they are taking a huge risk. I think they need to beat West Ham tomorrow.
Completely agree we are a live & kicking working example that any team outside the top 6 that has bad luck with injuries & a poor run of form can risk relegation.

I've said for some time that Southampton ot Watford will be relegated swapping managers too often & selling your best players is not a good business model & has an air of inevitability for all concerned.

Just to answer that point of accepting such a low amount. Here are two scenarios for you

1. Silva keeps on a losing streak considering the fixtures and considering the short reigns of Watford managers, they sack him for dropping down the table so much. Does the compensation seem too low then when you sack him and have to pay him money?

2. Watford play hardball and don't let him go. But the form drops like it did in scenario one. Except we are still waiting for Silva, Watford stubbornly refuse to let him go. And the poor form continues and the board can't do anything now because they put their colours to their mast and can't back down in fear of looking weak at the sight of a patient club waiting for you to sack him.

In both scenarios, the compensation would be quite reasonable and it would allow you to lose your manager who clearly isn't fully commited to your club in the first place. That's not to say he would be commited here and certainly koeman would have jumped ship first chance he got at a bigger club. But Watford have to decide on how much backing are they going to give Silva because now a bigger dog has came along they have to completely back Silva or let him go. It's how football works unfortunately, the same as we are a feeder club for the club's above us, watford are essentially a feeder club for Everton. Considering Burnley, Swansea and the like have proven to us recently

You're a deluded. In the press conference yesterday which I heard every word of all he said was all he could talk about was Watford as he is the manager of Watford. He told the journalists to ask Everton about Everton. Did he say he wanted to join Everton - no. Did he say he didn't want to join Everton - no. He said Everton was none of his business. You're reading far too much into it. Would Watford put the conference in full on their official website if he had previously told them that he wanted out - of course they wouldn't.

Dismiss my points all you want they are just & valid. Your squad is not deep
& im telling you now 100% you will be relegated within 5 years its inevitable.

Could Elton John take over as Watford manager.
Might be the only way ye would make headlines. Or maybe he can do a version of candle in the wind about Marco leaving ye no marks after 12 games!

Silva is a human who can do what he likes. There will be ramifications but the decision on whether he is msnsger of Watford is not down to Poszo. Fact.
Saying 'fact' doesn't make it a fact. Silva is under contract. There is no release clause in that contract (many sources). If the Pozzos keep to their side of the contract (paying him) then he cannot leave. He can resign, but they can refuse to release him. Those are all the facts you need.
