listen lad the fact is no one apart from about 10 people on here and another 25 on twitter are even bothered about us getting Silva, he really isn't all that good, why don't you just enjoy the game today and stop mithering us on here. ya tit

lol now it is clear he isn't coming - we get well we never wanted him anyway. That's the sort of remark that you hear in a primary school!

We'll see mate, but them leaking that he's not available at any price sounds definitive to me, and not the kind of statement you'd leak if you were simply negotiating his leaving fee. He can leave for nowt in May.

They want him to walk...they NEED him to walk.

Just posturing.

TBH, he's decent I think, but I dont see him as the very best we can get and wont be that bothered if we dont land him.

It's just highly likely that we will now. And these latest statements dont mean a thing.

Ah, another mercenary manager who will leave us at the first possible opportunity, or get sacked cos he’s [Poor language removed].

Pointless appointment in the long-term.

Everton are too far down the road on Silva to turn back. They wouldn't have pursued it this long and with this intensity if they didn't have the ultimate fall back position in place: Silva walking out to us.

This is ending very soon.
For once I agree with you entirely. I think Silva is our next manager and it will be done sooner rather than later. Seems to be him or nobody else as far as rumours are concerned so all eggs going into this basket. At least 4 scrappy points in 2 games gives the board a bit more time, had we lost both we would be in a real mess.

all very tr

all very true but still miles better than you lot, you didn't even sell all your away allocation with your best team in the premier league era, now shhhhh
Best you can do? "Yeah, but we're better than you. Nyah!" Not saying much, is it? We know we are tinpot. You don't realise you are like a senile old duchess looking back on the glory days which will never come again. We're still looking ahead.

We'll see how it pans out mate.

I liked what he did at Hull, they were buried after being completely under resourced by the Allams after their promotion. The fact he got a tune out of them despite such an awful squad was very impressive. But he's still 'potential' as far as I'm concerned, he could turn out to be a tremendous manager, but equally he could flop, has he got enough gravitas in the game to get hold of our current crop of overpaid and half arsed prima donnas? Not sure myself, I'd rather take a proven man like Benitez personally, despite his RS past, his CV is the best of those who are on the 'gettable' list imo.

This one?

...places emphasis on Silva now having to make the decision to leave...which is what they want and need.

Yep the second one mate. Basically undermines all the bluster of the first tweet. What are they wanting Silva to "tell them" to make it "interesting".

Compare that to Athletico Madrid's chairman's brush off for when we were linked with Simeone (which wasn't even the most categoric no I've ever seen) and it's miles apart. At no point did they say "We need to talk to Diego Simeone and he needs to tell us he wants to stay/leave".

It's a nonsense. I suspect the only thing that will stop this, is if Everton understandably say they won't pay any more than 10 million. I don't like West Ham much, and can understand why people don't want Moyes to win, but if he rocked up there and turned them over today I think Silva could be booted out very quickly.

Absolutely.
If West Ham win today it will certainly raise questions of whether they should cash in.
