Well they definitely can put him on gardening leave if he resigns. But that would mean paying 2 managers at once and no compensation.

Think it has to be in his contract for them to be able to do that legally for reasons like stopping him bringing information that can help a competitor. It probably is in his contract but none of us know so could easily not be in it too. I reckon they'll take the compo rather than paying 2 managers, would be burning money otherwise paying 2 managers and Silva would come here for free in summer. Also think gardening leave can be contested in court by the new employer and employee.

That post is in contradiction to quite a lot of this thread. As some of you openly don’t want Silva. Some of you are worried he isn’t good enough. Some of you are worried your club looks amateur. Some of you are worried you’ll get LVG. Some are even more worried you’ll get Unsworth. If you doubt any of that, flick through a few pages. They're called bedwetters mate, people who listen to the made up crap in the gutter press and say we're a shambles for taking a month to get a manager while ignoring the fact we're staying on course and working hard to get our man and willing to pay a compo fee so large that only Chelsea have ever paid similar. The same people who ignore the fact our owner last season cleared 80m debt off the books from his back pocket like it was loose change. The same people who forget we've got a 60k waterside stadium in the pipeline. But ok, utter shambles.

You mention LVG, lol Watford can only dream of being linked with managers who have a CV like his and as for Silva, it's a risk in this league and people have reservations as we're going through a transitional period the past few seasons with big changes which brings about difficult times on and off the pitch while we rebuild as a business and try to strengthen the team. Hence why we need a steady manager, that was supposed to be Koeman, but ok, he bought the wrong players and and messed up but I'm not worried, we'll take Silva, bounce back and finish the season strong and move forward with our new manager.

You keep banging on about this Pozzo fella like he's Don fkin Corleone and Watford are the next City and Everton are the next Villa. We've spent 5 or 6 of the last 10 seasons playing European football while you lot spent 8 of those in the Championship. We're the 6th or 7th most decorated club in England while Watford have won Fk all, Nots County have a bigger trophy cabinet than you lot, actually! Your average attendance is around 20k ours is close to 40k. Your record transfer fee is 18m ours is 45m! Our club twitter has more followers than Watford has supporters.

See a trend yet? Know your place and don't even try to compare Watford to Everton, youse couldnt lace a club like ours boots, no where near our level even when we're having a terrible season! Youse were on the same points tally last season, look how that ended, get a grip of yourself the league is 38 games not 12. Only person worried about Silva here is yourself, I think we'll get him this week, if we don't, meh, we move on.
