That post is in contradiction to quite a lot of this thread. As some of you openly don’t want Silva. Some of you are worried he isn’t good enough. Some of you are worried your club looks amateur. Some of you are worried you’ll get LVG. Some are even more worried you’ll get Unsworth. If you doubt any of that, flick through a few pages. Seems there’s a lot more of you worried than just little old, no mark, Elton John loving me.
I mainly look at cat gifs and try to match them to posters of a, shall we say we, cantankerous disposition. No, don't thank me.

I agree with that mate.

I do stand by flavour of the month though, compared to managers like Tuchel, Ancelotti and possibly Simeone. He's a potentially top manager, but a bit behind those guys for me.

Personally really rate and like Tuchel mate, but honestly he is also a bit of a FotM as well, his record doesn't stand up to the others you mentioned for example.

The likes of Ancelotti, Simeone etc are very very proven managers, Tuchel and Silva to differing degrees are about potential (both have quite a unique way of coaching/tactics as well whichy stands them out from the crown so to speak)

Watford fan in peace here. I don't think the media etc understand our owners. They are clued up football club owners. With that in mind if Silva resigns they will stick him on gardening leave.

Then they don't understand football at all mate, for a club and owners who frequently revolving door managers every season or two, what effect do you think forcing a manager to be stuck unable to work for nearly two years will have on their future recruitment policy for managers for both Watford and udinese?

No manager worth a dime will go near your club in the future if they know there's a genuine risk of them being put into a position they cannot leave or risk being unable to work for the duration of their contract.

Sounds nice and tough saying it, would be an utter disaster to follow through with such a idea or policy.

Reminds me of all the fans who shout about sticking a want away player in the reserves for 2-3 seasons when he wants to leave, will never ever happen as would ultimately make the club look as small time and bitter as it could possibly be to do so. Would also show an immense lack of any financial sense

Of course we do.For starters we blew £18,000,000 on Andre Gray if we did that do you seriously think we would take 15 for Silva. Times have changed as crazy as it seems £15,000,000 is nothing now. We are paying Deeney 5 million a year so 15 for Silva is not going to work is it.

Yes mate because what you pay for players has absolutely zero to do with what value a manager has, for example if a manager 'say for example' Koeman doesn't work out, you end up having to pay off his contract - so for us that cost 10m, now take a player - say Cleverley - he was absolutely a busted flush for us - we sold him for 8m profit.

there in itself is a 18m difference between what getting shut of a manager and player cost the club.

As for 15m being nothing - it depends mate, how many players have you ever sold for that amount or over in your clubs history, or bought for that amount in fact?

I'm guessing maybe 1 of each, in which case it looks incredibly stupid to think that 15m for your club is insignificant - else you'd be spending those types of fees and receiving them on a regular basis.

15m for a manager would be a world record fee - breaking a record that Chelsea have held for around 8 years or so, 15m for a manager who effectively can resign from the club at any point he wishes - leaving at best the club paying his wages for no service in order to stop him working is good business sense.

Managers and lots of your fans seem to struggle with this, aren't players, and trying to apply 'value' to them corresponding with a player is utter lunacy

In terms of bad moves, That’s nothing.

We pissed 45 Million pounds down the drain by signing Gylfi Sigurdsson.

..the bookmakers markets appear unmoved overnight, nothing in this morning’s press, no rumours, no leaks, no Twitter news. Another day of watching, another day of listening. Another day, another dollar.

It's annoying! are we? Will we? Won't we? - Everton the team that loves to keep there own fans guessing at absolutely everything!

Notice how none of us are worried that if we want your manager that we wouldn't get him. We all know we would. We also know that you are worried as well. We understand. It sucks.
