He signed a two year contract with a one year break clause at your club mate, your club has prior on sacking the manager who did a great job getting you up because he wanted a new improved contract.

Now which do you think is most likely, he wants to extend his contract at a club which typically changes manager every season and doesn't pay 'that much' in relative terms

Or

He actually wants to jump ship, double to quadruple his salary at a club that only tends to sack a manager for massively under-performing - rather than changing manager as a policy

As for Silva, it depends on his ambitions. His end game maybe a role at one of the elite European clubs in the next 12-18 months. To get this he needs to decide if his stock will be better served at Watford where there will be less expectations but a top 10 position will still get him noticed or Everton where there is a higher chance of failing

As for managers:
Dyche - should have been given a chance but often a new owner starts afresh
Zola - Great football to start with but seriously lost his way and conceded too many (same as at Brum)
Sannino - was only ever to be a short term appointment to steady the ship
García - left after four games on health reasons - think he had a heart attack
McKinley - totally wrong appointment and left after 2 games
Jokanovic - Great manager and wish he’d been given a chance in the Prem but, reportedly, wanted too much money. Maybe, based on Fulham, the Pozzos were right
Flores - read Zola
Mazzarri - horrible, horrible football. The second half of last season was dreadful to watch

Silva knew what he was coming into and has done a great job. Time will tell if this is a power play for him to get more control at Watford or Everton is the step up he’s looking for

Apart from thinking this guy isn't as good as what seems to be. Not utterly convinced by this guy, I was one of the few who would prefer Dyche but he's not tanned enough or have a fancy enough name; It's also very very poor form poaching a manager after 3 months in charge, if it were Utd or Chelsea doing it to us, there would be uproar, it's all a bit tasteless and classless and not very Everton.

Possessing that kind of mentality is why we've not won a trophy for 22 years

I wouldn't class 10 to 15 million poaching. If Watford get that sort of money from us they've rolled us over.

I dont know how much better Silva would do in comparison with Dyche, but its a cliché to say that people want one over the other just because they are foreign and not a pasty faced ginger. The main reason would be the percieved style of football one prefers, I would have thought.

Dyche would be better suited at sorting your defensive problems compared to Silva
Silva would be better suited at providing exciting attacking football

Eat or be eaten I'm afraid. I see that Man Utd and Barca are already sniffing around Onyekuru for instance, before he has ever played a minute for us.

And if they want him, they'll pursue him without a second thought.

Watford are very capable of being ruthless when it suits them.

I fail to see how taking Burnley's manager is classier than taking Watford's

I can safely say I would prefer Silva over Dyche solely cos Silva isnt a pasty faced ginger who smells of Gravy.

Out of interest why do you believe Silva seems to want to come to you?

If it’s down to the silence then I’m fairly certain that could be contributed to Marco using this as a contract negotiation with his bosses. I’ve not seen him say anywhere that he wants this job
From a Watford perspective I think the silence and the failure of Everton to be linked with any other manager now after being linked with so many before is telling..in my opinion.

There is a natural order amongst clubs, when Utd looked for Moyes he was always going to go, the same with Lukaku, Stones etc.

Everton are far from pristine at the moment but they are seen as a far bigger club than Watford. Everton are seem as a club that with the right manager could/would be a top four team. Some predicted that might happen even this season before it all fell down around us.

Everton did spend close to 150m during the summer and there is little doubt that there will be more to spend for a new manager.
There is a large fanbase and everybody is telling us that we will be in a new 60000 stadium within three years.

I don't mean any disrespect to Watford but I think that any ambitious manager would have to consider that proposal seriously. just as if he does come to Everton and is very successful we will struggle to keep him when/if one of the really big clubs go after him.
