Let’s see how that goes down if the existence of a cease-and-desist letter is true....
Surely a cease and desist letter is a pre-cursor to future legal action should we continue to chase Silva?

That would imply that the process of us offering Silva a job is in some way illegal?

I’m not too clued up on the law here but as far as I’m aware offering someone a job is not an illegal act. It my be against PL rules but I don’t believe it’s illegal.

That would kinda invalidate the cease and desist letter.

Not sure on what grounds Watford could report Everton? What constitutes an illegal approach if we've made enquiry through Watford?

Isn't bid, rebuff and then another bid the way most deals are done in football.

Much ado about nothing.

The same paper that said Everton gave up on Silva 4 days ago.

Watford have insisted that Silva will not be allowed to leave Vicarage RoadDAVID DAVIES/PA
Everton are increasingly resigned to being unable to lure Marco Silva from Watford to be their new manager and are now considering Ralf Rangnick among alternative candidates.

Watford have insisted that Silva will not be allowed to leave Vicarage Road and rejected a £10 million offer of compensation from Everton last week.

Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s major shareholder, would have paid more for the Portuguese manager as he searches for a replacement for Ronald Koeman, but Scott Duxbury, the Watford chief executive, reiterated after further talks that they would not be changing their stance mid-season.

Everton appear to have gone through Watford so can't see how they have grounds for complaint to be honest.

Sadly they dont explain the legal grounds in which a Premier League club can sue another Premier League for making an offer for an asset.

I mean imagine if such a law existed, imagine how many clubs would sue each other.
