And yet all it needs is a statement from Silva saying he's staying at Watford and this circus around him would end. But nothing. He lets this continue with his "I'm not discussing Everton" stance.
Well not really. He’s an employee of Watford. And they’ve give you their answer. Twice. If we have given you intimation that there is no fee that will be agreeable, when do you respect that? Regardless of what Silva has or hasn’t said, he is employed by us. There has been no encouragement as far as anyone can see from us that there may be a fee we’d agree to. In fact, the paper says even when doubled, your top offer so far won’t make us budge. You are all hanging on to what Silva is it isn’t saying when the biggest factor is whether we want to deal with you. And we don’t. The Premier League May not be able to make you back off in a legal sense, but I’d be pretty sure as a member club you’d be encouraged by them to be respectful to another club. The fact that Everton are still chasing really baffles me.

The one hope you have is him resigning. And he’s showing no signs of doing so. At all. I doubt Watford would go to the effort of involving lawyers if they thought he might walk. It’s just getting embarrassing now and you should focus on getting someone attainable.

Have Watford put out an official statement? Not being snarky just asking. I didn't think they had.

From the Times you like to quote

Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s major shareholder, would have paid more for the Portuguese manager as he searches for a replacement for Ronald Koeman, but Scott Duxbury, the Watford chief executive, reiterated after further talks that they would not be changing their stance mid-season.

And yet Watford have entertained multiple meetings on the subject. It's almost as if it's a negotiating strategy.

The reason Watford are threatening to report Everton is because we're in there still trying to get Silva to commit. You have a very nervous 2/3 days ahead of you until Silva makes up his mind.

Ahhh I wondered when you’d pop up with another timeframe to miss. Finally I can rest.

You’ve highlighted two points that don’t contradict one another though? I never said there hadn’t been talks. I said we’d given you our answer. Twice. That could have been straight out or after talks...

The way I see it is :

We want him , reading in between the lines he wants to come to us / you don't want to let him go ( understandably)

We've offered compo and you've said no / not enough.

So now it's who blinks first :

We either move on.

We either offer the right amount.

He resigns.

He publicly states he's staying ( very crucially he hasn't done this yet )

It really is as simple as that.

Whats the basis for reporting Everton then? If talks have been mutual then we might as well report Watford for not selling.

The story is a Watford press release. Not criticising it but it's just a press release, not something that has a basis in premier league rules.

LOL you lot do realise that even if Silva wanted to come he can't just engineer a move, Watford hold his contract. If Pozzo says 'Marco your turn to manage the stiffs' then there's not a lot else he can do without risk of losing his Uefa licence.

Pozzo doesn't need Moshiri's money. Right now all he needs is a coach that can get us above Burnley and possibly give us shot at the Uefa league.

Then why are you and your friends panicking?

Sadly they dont explain the legal grounds in which a Premier League club can sue another Premier League for making an offer for an asset.

I mean imagine if such a law existed, imagine how many clubs would sue each other.
Just makes me think we may still get him. All the stories the selling club leak to put up a fight. Similar to Southampton. That or someone we aren't expecting.
