Well
Lads, I'm on TalkSPORT again talking about this at about 1:30pm. If you're around and can listen then tune in. My thoughts are basically:

· No expert like most British football supporters
· Impressed with what I read he did in Portugal
· Doesn’t seem to stay places very long, and I think Everton is a good for the long haul. We're a "PROJECT”, (I hate saying that).
· Sacking at Sporting Lisbon was strange
· Did well in Greece, but left after just one season I think
· Couldn’t do more with Hull
· Not going to pass judgment on him from one game at our place where he didn't get any luck in the last 30.
· Seems to be able to set up teams who don’t have any pace, which suits us alright. Lol.

Will, as always, give a plug to the forum.

Don’t jump the gun mate, Sky are saying Watford won’t let him go.

Silva ruled out, SSN.
Doesnt say that at all in the report....just Watford saying they will rebuff Everton or anyone else.
Same thing happened with Koeman.
If we want him & he wants the job there will only be one outcome.
They wouldnt actually just say "here you go Marco ...with our best wishes" would they ?
Money will sort this out ...it does every time.

Edit.
Looking back can you remember Whelans performance over Martinez ?

...I think this is the interesting bit;

‘SSN understands the 40 year old would be interested in talking to Everton but the 40 year olds two year contract does not have a break clause and consequently, their efforts to secure his services have come to an end.’

The Independent wrote that last night Eggs but instead it was - “Upon saying No, Watford consider the matter closed.”

Sky putting their spin on it, even though it isn’t their story.

News of the £8.5m compo offer is leaked to Paul Joyce, Watford spokesperson giving it all the 'We arent letting him go talk' - basically they want us to up our £8.5m offer.

Mate the sacking at Sporting was because they wanted to make a statement and hire the very successful cross town rival from Benfica - Jorge Jesus - they fabricated a reason to justify getting rid of him as he was popular with supporters and successful, but their owner wanted to score points against their city rival. DON't Repeate the thing about not wearing a suit to the cup final - it was 6 months earleir at a league game and formed part of a 400 page document the board did to explain away them getting rid, yeah it was that well planned to go after the benfica manager jorge jesus

Went to Greece as he was apparently sickened by what happened in Portugal and wanted to get waway from that league - so was a rebuilding year for him.

He wouldn't have left sporting had he had the choice about it, Estoril he stayed for 3-4 years at them

Hull he had a relegation clause in his contract

And thus, the games begin.

Did anyone here REALLY expect Watford (suspicious "Spokesman" aside) to come out and say anything but "we will not be entertaining it yadda yadda"...

Southampton did it. They all do it, beginning of the season, middle of the season, end of the season it makes no difference.

The game is now, how much they can get and who they can get in.

If it was all serious it wouldn't be "spokesperson" It would be CEO, chairman or whoever....

I like this guy, im very pro him.

"It might be the least requirement for an Olympiakos manager to win the Greek League but did Mr. Merson and Mr. Thompson have the knowledge that Marco Silva's team finished a record 30 points ahead of the second best team winning 28 of their 30 league games?

They set a record of 17 consecutive domestic wins - a European record in the 21st century. Silva also recorded 9 points in the group stage of the Champions League in a group consisting of Bayern Munich and Arsenal. There was also a historic 3-2 victory at the Emirates which is regarded as one of the club's most iconic results ever"
Mr Merson and Mr Thompson couldn't see as far as the end of their own conks, let alone all the way to somewhere out of the greatest league in the world (TM Sky Sports).

Starting to seem a bit Koeman this - club are absolutely against the idea and are starting to paint the outgoing manager as the bad guy.

Oh additionally - he's not a Mourinho light or klopp clone, his system and style are actually from the same mould as Simeone - which is an interesting thing i read from before we where linked to Diego
