Probably. Just an observation following your post that 3 sacked managers actually did ok. On paper.
I'd say as a general rule that its an advantage to have experience of the league to do well at a club and have an immediate impact. I dont know if that's backed up statistically, like.

olympiacos and sporting?

I would rather give this job to someone that has experience in the prem, which he does.
Watford were far outdoing us before their shitshow begin.

Just to be clear I think Fonseca would be great as well, both having a good cv and could take us forward.

They were out doing us because Koeman had us playing so bad, Big Sam out done them, in fact even when SIlva was doing well he wasnt doing as well as Sam, its just not good enough.

Aside from that ive just searched on Twitter out of interest to see how this is giong down, and in the last hour nearly every post about him that isnt an article is from disappointed blues or fans of other clubs laughing at us for going in for Silva.

Its my gut feeling as well.

But like you say, stats wise, not a clue. I guess for every Conte, there are half a dozen De Boers mind.

edit. Palace was FDB's first PL job wasnt it?

Just a guess, but I think they`d be laughing more if it was announced that Allardyce was seeing out his contract.

I doubt they'd find their feet immediately in their first season here, as the last three managers did. That experience of the league counted for something, surely?
Why do you doubt that?

I can think of lots of foreign managers who have succeeded in their first year. Conte immediately comes to mind.

I'd hardly suggest that it is certain that a foreign manager will struggle and need time to acclimatise.

From what I can remember Koeman struggled for the first 4-5 months here and he was league proven.

Not sure I agree with this. Poch? Mourinho? Alex Ferguson? Conte? Klopp? Wenger? Pep? Just to name a few there who came to the league with no experience.

We need to dispel this myth that Silva was smashing the league with Watford before we approached him: they had 21 points from 15 games. Par for the course for Watford, nothing special about those numbers, in fact he even found a way of throwing away a 2 goal lead to the feeblest Everton side of the last few years.

I really wish you hadn`t posted that.

The experience thing is nonsense, Koeman, Martinez, Mark Hughes, Pulis, Moyes, Silva, Fat head....etc that your experiece managers, we don't want PL experience unless it's good experience such as Conte
