I regard Silva as a risky appointment, but then, apart from a very select group of managers who will not come to us anyway every appointment carries risk.

I am impressed by the fact that Moshiri wanted him last November and was prepared to pay a lot of money for him it appears that he has not changed his opinion in the interim. I like it that they seem to have a desire to get him whatever the cost.

From his time at Everton it is clear how Moshiri operates in business. He seems to be determined, focused and ruthless and when your face no longer fits, then you are gone , regardless of the cost.

It makes me wonder who Moshiri took advice from last November and who is advising him now.
I expect Brands will have a big say in the appointment and this makes me wonder if Moshiri was talking to Brands last November and if not then who was he talking to and what role does Brands play if not involved in appointing the man he has to work closely with.

I assume that we are presently talking to Watford to hammer out a package for Silva.

I hope it is a harsh broom, with spiky bristles
...a besom

throwaway articles from Prentice in the Echo are not going to convince me while we're clearly engaged in some sort of compensation dispute for Silva

The Red Echo is not in the loop, as far as EFC news is concerned. Their assumptions are made on the basis of general knowledge and their articles about EFC are not worth the paper they are written on.

I stopped reading the rag a long time ago, but do see their tweets and links retweeted by others and commented on.
Assumptions and guesswork are all they have: disregard

BREAKING NEWS

Marco Silva could be confirmed as Everton’s new manager as early as next week, Sky Sports News understands.

Several candidates are still under consideration by the Everton board, but we understand Silva remains the man they want to replace Sam Allardyce at Goodison Park.

As early as next week....erm, a fortnight after the post was there to be filled.

Moshiri is 'kin hopeless. He's had months to sort it ASAP immediately after Allardyce was dumped - everyone else gets their new manager sorted in days.

Players are on holiday, whats the rush?

I suppose you would rather we rushed it.
