Just thought i would point out that it is only 9 days since Allardyce got sacked. Not exactly what i would call ages and the new Manager will probably be in place next week. Everton have to get this appointment absolutely spot on so we just need to be a tad bit more patient i think. :)

People moaning over nothing as I've said before what changes when he becomes manager? Brands is doing all the behind the scenes work and is clearly in contact with Silva so signing or culling players isn't a problem. Just a bizzare thing to cry about to be honest.

9 days? Honestly feels like months.

Spoke to Hull fan who absolutely loves him, plays great football and relegation wasnt his fault...
up until the downturn in results Watford fans loved him too. I remember one coming on here every days telling us how he was the best young manager in country and they were a team on the up - watch out City.
The way his head was turned so quickly is a worry but Watfords sudden drop in form isn't. That was a team playing far above and beyond their level and that's largely down to him. They were never going to keep playing at that standard.

I would have hoped that we had agreed with Silva that he coming in at the end of the season. Hence why we gave Allardyce an 18 month deal.

If this is the case then he would have had plenty of time to assess our squad. Same with brands who probably knew a few months ago.

The whole "head turned" thing is overblown. He was manager of an ok team. He had the opportunity to move up a level.

If he is our manager, he will be at a level where the next step up is a champions league team. Unless he does well with us, these clubs won't touch him. If he does do well, we will likely be in and around those places, so we would be able to attract a better replacement as well.

As Elton said, it's the circle of life.

Name these other clubs that have been so ferocious and quick in signing up their summer targets. I've got all day.

Well the transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet. Nor did I say that everyone else had already bought their players - the only ones I’m aware of were pre-agreed, being Keita to the RS and Perreira from porto to Leicester.

Nonetheless, Moyes left West Ham on the same day as we sacked Allardyce and they’ve already announced Pellegrini, in my opinion a better (and certainly more proven) manager than Silva. Once he’s finally in, he’ll need to sit down with Brands and the board to discuss potential plans and transfers, etc, etc. My point was that everything with Everton drags out so long. Think of the Koeman appointment and how slow our dealings were after he arrived and took all his bloody holidays.

In a World Cup year, it is imperative to hit the ground running and do business early, including getting a bloody manager in.
