He didn't pull out of the Arsenal job.

Arsenal blinked first, and punted for the more experienced option.

Arsenal interviewed him and respected journalists quoted him as saying he wanted control of the budget and when that didn’t happen he pulled out of the running.
Immaterial either way as any incoming manager would want to know the budget and the type of player the club were going to buy.
Would Mourinho take a job where he had 200m to spend but only on players under 23
I doubt it

Do you really think a company that makes millions on advertising is going to risk a massive fine by doctoring its news platform to give false news on manager markets which bring in a few grand of bets at most.
A journalist putting out news that he said at the time he believed to be accurate that turns out to be false in the end
Who would have thought it possible

There shouldn't be any problem with Brands and Silva working together. Brands knew Silva was probably coming when
he arrived and he'd have said so if he didn't want him here. Silva clearly doesn't see a problem and I think they'll be a
good partnership.

It's all been done early, so let's get going.

Brands will not be talking to Silva about salary or conditions of employment. That conversation is between Silva's agent and the finance people at Everton.

Brands and Silva will talk football and I doubt that targets and budgets come late in the day. They are after all crucial to our team and our finances.

they are probably waiting until friday to announce it when Brands will be in post, so it can be choreographed properly. it will be the beginning of a new dawn for efc.

I don't think it's as paranoid a shout as you'd think. We're often offered "promoted articles" from a few various with offer of payment to influence markets - like "Ancelotti the Early Everton Replacement for Koeman" Of course we didn't run it, but I'm sure others did.

Also;

Sky Betting and Gaming picked up an extra half a million customers this year as its revenue soared by 38 per cent to £516m, with its boss saying it would be targeting further market share.

[Edit] Example. Day before Lukaku signs for Everton, Sky Spots run an article saying Real Madrid have swooped in, concluding with odds of something like 6/1 for him to sign for Real Madrid;

Their last reply made me smile.

"Its not speculation that impacts odds but yeah, speculation encourages bets which impacts odds"

Actually A doesn't cause C. What happens is A causes B and then B causes C. Have a nice day!

Nice one, Sky Twitter person. :rolleyes:
