Never.
If your going to go for a foreign manager go big with someone who has won many trophies.
If your just looking for a run of the mill premier league manager then it's Sean dycke or Chris Houghton.

There's no half way and hope he comes good. Either go big and make a statement or don't.

Pickford / ??? / ???

Coleman / Kenny -- Holgate / Jagielka -- ??? / ??? -- ??? / Baines

Gana / Baningime -- Doucoure / Davies

Walcott / Dowell -- Sigurdsson / Vlasic -- Richarlison / Lookman

??? / Niasse / Tosun / DCL
Squad starts to look quite sexy with those 2 signings

@mellowblue

Fantasy land lad...jagielka ? Baines? [Poor language removed] lad

We're going to trust this man, who's only spent a maximum of 6 to 12 months at his past 4 clubs, to rebuild this club?

We currently don't have a squad to play a "brand" of football. He needs to ship out 10 players and bring in 4 or 5 of the right kind to even attempt anything.

By that point he'll be looking elsewhere

He was successful and moved up each time to attain the Hull job where he had no players and improved Niasse.

Watford he had flying till we popped up

This is too big a rebuilding job to attract any top manager. You must see that?

We need realism now. Our identity is non-existent. This feller lifts us back into modernity at least as a football team playing recognisably 21st century football.

He's the stepping stone manager, IMO. He'll do us fine.

Is Richarlison that good ? Seen him a few times and he looked alright but didn't particularly leave me wishing he was an Everton player.

Brilliant for the 1st half of the season -- then he seemed to tire (as reported elsewhere) as he hasn't had a break for 18months.

This. Some people are living in dreamland thinking we can attract the absolute elite. We can't.

I honestly could see Emery looking at us favorably. Stability and a plan to get a struggling club with ambition back to where they ought to be. And it would increase his status amongst managerial candidates in the future.
