Taking a club like Estoril from the lower reaches of Portugal's second tier (Segunda Liga) to the higher echelons of the Portuguese top-flight (Primeira Liga) was also extremely impressive.

Silva has done well at every club he's been at, bar Watford. And in fairness to him he had a tiny budget at Vicarage Road. Plus, Watford never looked like going down.

Yes like a ginger version of Sean Dyche, albeit sexier.
I am left feeling about 60% happy. It’s hardly a statement of intent, his record is sound but not stellar.

...BetVictor’s market has been running for a while, I listed the odds a week or so ago but Silva drifted to 2-1 a few days ago. Still 4/5 this morning.

...key for me is the transfer window opens on Thursday and we need to have a new manager/DoF combination in place asap. If it is Silva, I would hope he’s known for months so he can prepare his shopping list. Timing is important, timing is looking good.

Went down with Hull and got sacked at Watford, and we are thinking of him as our next manager ffs Everton.

Context!
Hull were in freefall with shattered confidence. They went down with a gentle parachute motion in the end.
Watford were on fire until we waded in and showed a bit of ankle, then he lost focus with the munter draped over his arm.

Not at all convinced by him. However if it is him, as with Martinez, he starts with a clean slate and has my full backing until I'm given a reason not to.

Didn’t we say the same about Martinez? Took over the best defence I’ve ever seen and made it gradually worse.

I'd get behind him, not the greatest CV but he is only what, 40? We need to get real and accept we are not attracting a top tier manager yet, bloody moon head only came because we offered obscene amounts of dosh and he was hardly a proven great manager, just a big name player.
If it's Silva he deserves a fair chance.
