Easiest thing in the world at Everton to just slate a new manager before even a ball has been kicked, you’ll probably end up right as Everton will invariably find a way to avoid success. How about just backing the new guy? Allardyce was an exceptional case but there were people against Koeman before a ball was kicked.

I'm sure people backed Koeman a lot especially after Martinez.

Until he started buying players

Telling you now every Everton backs a new manager but when we try and make excuses for their shortcomings before he even starts because he’s not the last guy then we end up with problems.

First time we throw away a lead it will start, “oh here we go Martinez v2”.

A few weeks ago quite a few were lamenting that we ever sacked Martinez, now people are claiming he’ll be Martinez 2.0.

Personally I think his defensive game is a lot better than Martinez’s despite some stand out heavy losses. When he first went to Hull they went from being a sieve to a lot better defensively although there’s only so much you can do with one of the worst squads in the league.

He’s young, ambitious, plays attacking football and is known as a man manager. That goes a long way for me after two years of Koeman and Allardyce.

His ex players still talk fondly of him. You’d struggle to find one who would rate Martinez or Koeman at Everton.

Not sure what the journos are on about re Watford making it difficult for us to sign him. They binned him off and he’s no longer contracted to them, in what way can they throw a spanner in the works other than sending one of their grocks like Holebas to kidnap him.

Some people with the no ambition shouts are crazy, Can you please just look at our club before you start with the Emery/Wenger/Simone etc, We finish top half 6-8 on the regular, Haven't won a trophy in nearly 23 years and people expect the absolute elite to come to a club like us? You're completely bonkers. I would love for us to go out and pull the absolute top draw but we simply aren't that level yet. Silva or Fonseca we can get (I'd prefer Fonseca but fine with either.) We just have to hope Silva can get us on track again.

You expect three seasons? That is better than he has managed so far

Thats the worry for me..

I'd get behind him, not the greatest CV but he is only what, 40? We need to get real and accept we are not attracting a top tier manager yet, bloody moon head only came because we offered obscene amounts of dosh and he was hardly a proven great manager, just a big name player.
He will be punt, as much as we are for him anyway.

That’s fine by me, not paying the ransom either.
