I think with Silva we have seen what he is capable of in the Premier League coaching. With Arteta, he hasn't been at that level but has been an assistant coach to the 100 point Manchester City. Maybe there is something there, maybe there isn't.
With Arteta we haven't seen what he is capable of at any level coaching

I'm of the opinion that we can give people a chance and see what they can do. It may work, it may not. Give them a 1 year contract that we can extend if they do well and wont cost us much to get out of if they don't.

What I don't understand is people who say they are averse to risk being prepared to give Arteta a go over Silva.

I'm surprised that you read this thread and see iron-clad optimism next season. I see a ton of Evertonian's completely underwhelmed at the prospect of having Silva as our manager next season.
sounds like that Evertonian you've mentioned needs to lay off the full English breakfasts.

We could still land Fonseca, though Silva being a free agent is the more likely. I don’t know enough about Fonseca other than he’s done well wherever he’s gone but it’s a totally different level in England and we’re not exactly an enticing proposition for anyone at the moment.
Fonsexa is out of contract too mate

Looking at the odds 4/11 silva 9/2 fons on PP
1/4 Silva 5/1 Fons Bet Victor
4/6 Silva 6/4 Fons Skybet

I remember Sam was 1/6 then he went to 14/1 a few days before he was appointed. I would not take much notice.

I think alot of the media blew their load to early with the Silva link - none of said he had held talks more that he's the "main candidate" which is easy based on our pursuit last season.

He's definitely the favourite but with Moshiri being a bit of a flavour of the month type I wouldn't be surpised in the slightest if we have not yet decided.

Emery is supposedly being interviewed by West Ham which is a disgrace if we dont make an approach for him.

I still think its between Silva and Fonesca.

That went over my head completely mate.

Back to our point though, I'm not seeing much optimism on this thread. Only a handful seem to really want him here, and the rest is split between those that definitely don't want him, and those that are prepared to give it a go but ideally would prefer somebody else. Oh and the odd few that just want Allardyce to stay.lol
