2019/20 Marco Silva

Personally, I think we've reached the 'anyone but Silva' stage, in the same way we'd reached the 'anyone but Koeman' stage.
Now I'm not meaning literally anybody but Silva has gone below and beyond showing how totally unsuitable for the job he is at Everton.
If we make the right appointment now, this can still be a great season. A top six place is easily within reach, a League Cup semi-final is achievable and the FA Cup is still six weeks away.
Act now = chance of a decent season.
Act in January = a wasted few months in the bottom half of the table and an early cup exit.

We were at home to Norwich who hadn't scored an away goal since August, that's 3 months ago, they came to Goodison kept a clean sheet and scored 2, if you think Silva can get this side to 40 points then it's time to give up the cocaine, 100% relegated if this clueless buffoon in charge, bringing on Coleman when he did yesterday was a sackable offense, the worst substitution since Martinez hauled off a defender for a striker when we were 2 up against west ham with 10 minutes to go and lost 3-2 that's the level of incompetence we are talking here.

you’ve only addressed half of the point I’m making. I’m aware it’s crap. He deserves the sack. I just prefer our even crapper club to not have to pick a new manager mid season unless we are in feb/March and facing a relegation

as crap as we were yesterday if he continues the % of points he is winning he would get 40 and realistically 36 is the most common safety point

so no. We aren’t getting relegated

and I am saying that as crap as Silva is our club as a whole is currently crapper IMO and I’d like them to have all the rest of the season to try and make a good decision and line up a new manager in the summer.

worst case scenario for me is what happened when they sacked koeman. I don’t want a moyes or any other type like that anywhere near the club.

Kendal did bad in his first couple of games. You “toffees” easily forget. Have faith.
Haha....can I ask why you always seem to question other fans loyalty to this club?? You obviously have blue blood running through your veins where us mere mortals have not.

Do you have a defender lined up Marcel... No we'll get Zouma. A month later same thing... Another month later same thing... You have another manager lined up if things go south Marcel... No Hey Ho will turn it around... A month later same thing... Another month (you get the jist) ... Cmon Marcel sort this S&#% out please.

Except they didn't did they? They knew after the blades game he was toast. So they went out and made a deal in principle with Mourinho (see the story about them having lunch 2 weeks ago) then punted Poch once that was done.

Theres no way Mourinho would sit there for weeks and weeks on the off chance Spurs decide to get rid.

The reason they were able to do it so quickly was that everything was already in place.

You can't argue the board should back Silva until yesterday then moan that backing him didn't involve having a top manager hanging by the telephone just in case.
No, they'll wait until we have an even more embarrassing defeat and then sack him. The following week a board meeting will be held to discuss who might be available to replace this inept buffoon.
Surely there SHOULD be someone waiting for the call?

That's not the point I'm making.

I'm saying that if you (as matty and I were) called for backing Silva and patience, it's a bit rich to then criticise the board for not having an immediate top class replacement waiting in the wings. Cos that wouldn't be backing him, would it?

We can't let this drift for weeks on end with no sign of improvement. There's a real risk of us going 7 or 8 without a win.

Marcel did, it was Silva pushing for Zouma

Well, yes it could. Surely Brands and his fellow directors should always have replacements in mind. It's too late to start looking once you've decided to not back the manager. That's what we did when Koeman was sacked - and look how well that turned out.

I agree.

But if you wanted the board to back him, like matty and I, it makes no sense to slate them for doing what you wanted.

I disagree. I think we would grab a few points in the next 6 games and hit halfway point of 19 games just short of or on the 20pts mark

I always prefer to try and rectify situations as soon as possible. I don't agree with hanging on for 6 more months even though we've already reached the point of no return. We haven't done anything in 25 years so we don't have time to waste.
