fat Sam had us 8th with Martina, Williams and Rooney in the team.

He would easily have us top 10 at present.

I dont want him either but its astonishing that some cant see that Silva is the worst manager we've had since Walker.

I hate that we still have to mention him in the same breath but I really don’t see how he would have pushed on after sleepwalking to 8th, he could have burned his whole reputation down by doing something out of his comfort zone and got more respect doing so but he chose not to

If that means with finish with 40 points plus I’d take it now without hesitation

much prefer our stupid club went manager shopping in summer rather than now
You honestly believe we’ll get to 40 points with this dope in charge??

He’s shown little to no common sense with anything he’s done this season...under him we will go down....vault me if you like, but we are screwed if he stays the whole season.

The thing is he doesn’t need a huge pot of money to turn things around. He has a decent squad at his disposal. It’s entirely his fault that we are where we are and that’s the simple truth. He sets the team every week with the same tried and tested formation with the same tried and tested system, with the same tried and tested personnel. He admitted himself yesterday that we didn’t have enough pace or attacking urgency to get at Norwich yesterday, yet he starts the game with Tosun and Sigurdsson as our main attacking outlets. While the likes of Iwobi and Kean are left out.

How many of the clubs, especially the newly promoted clubs have better squads than ours? They simply don’t.

We have a crap manager who can’t get the best out of a decent group of players. Giving him another 100m ain’t gonna solve our problems.

Theres no doubt he has made some bizarre decisions...playing Sigurdsson Schneiderlin and Tosun in any game is asking for trouble.

Also about mobility his comment was madness...and giving Sigurdsson the armband was head scratching...his subs also...weird.

However, if you look at the players I would keep (and i posted this in another thread in reply to @CahillsCornerFlag )

GK: Pickford

DF: Kenny, Holgate, Mina, Digne

MF: Gomes, Gbamin, Davies

FW: Bernard, Richarlison, Iwobi, Gordon, DCL, Kean

8 Players signed by Silva/Brands
5 Players from academy or signed as prospects
1 Player from the previous managements squad

That shows the massive turnaround. 14 players out of a 25 man squad who are any good.

Of those 14 players only Richarlison has shown he is a consistent goalscorer in the league.

Also from the 14,
3 players are injured
1 is overseas on loan
1 hasnt made his debut
1 is adapting

So that narrows it down to 8 players in the entire squad who are serviceable.

As i keep asking, what manager can come in and turn this team around looking at the above?

Its not an easy task.

Totally agree, the team is playing like it’s relegated already, we are getting deeper and deeper in the brown stuff each week, with Silva in charge. Action needed now, I keep checking on sky every hour to see if he’s gone, if they stick by him it’s just shows how clueless our board is.

yeah I don’t believe we would continue the whole season like this if he stays and I think we would get 40pts plus including a few points in December when people are thinking zero is all we will get

im not concerned about relegation

I am very concerned about what stupid decision and appointment the club might make if they get rid right now

silva has shown he can do enough for the above whereas the club has clearly shown they cannot make decent decisions when it comes to the crunch and as such I prefer they were making it in summer

Gordon and Kenny.

lol lol lol

We know we’re stuffed when people on here look back to BFS days with nostalgia. I didn’t want BFS and not solely because of his style of football. I can see us sticking with Silva until January. If we have no money either because we simply don’t or for regulatory reasons he may survive until the end of the window.

I agree he should never have been given the job - but I still believe Silva is the worst of the pair in terms of management ability.

Give Allardyce the likes of Richarlison, Bernard and Digne to work with and who knows whilst still dour we might have been a bit more attacking.

Whereas give Silva Cucu Martina, Ashley Williams and Bolasie and I think we would be 20th at present.

Not really comparable as 3 would not be here had Allardyce stayed

We were at home to Norwich who hadn't scored an away goal since August, that's 3 months ago, they came to Goodison kept a clean sheet and scored 2, if you think Silva can get this side to 40 points then it's time to give up the cocaine, 100% relegated if this clueless buffoon in charge, bringing on Coleman when he did yesterday was a sackable offense, the worst substitution since Martinez hauled off a defender for a striker when we were 2 up against west ham with 10 minutes to go and lost 3-2 that's the level of incompetence we are talking here.

Shocking he hasn’t gone already, shocking that we even signed him, clubs a massive shambles and laffing stock and has been for a good few years now,

Well I guess you have a lot more faith than me, because his track record of late and his irrational team selections and refusal to try anything different, terrifies me.

If the club did get rid, I think your right, the club has shown no ability to make the correct decision under pressure and that’s another massive problem, we appear to be completely rudderless.

I also fear we’d be no better in the summer but we’ve got to get there first..we are in a total mess and I can’t believe it’s come to this, not being able to sack a useless manager because the higher ups don’t have a plan B
