2019/20 Marco Silva

That is all we are told but I am confident Silva knows what is happening.
Agreed, it’s almost as if he’s been told that he’s the interim manager until the boards number one choice can be put in place soon and happy to go along for the pay off? God knows but that’s my opinion.

Bernard has some huge faults in his game, not least his weighting of the final pass. But what he always gives is energy and effort, two things we are desperately short of at the moment.

I don't think anyone would dispute that, and he can certainly be a handy impact player. But, at the top level, you need a lot more than just energy and effort.

As i've said in the past, he's the same as Pickford (and more than a few other players) - Alright for now, but if we get close to breaking the top six, we'll need to move both out of the starting line up to stay there.

The Board is rightly taking a lot of stick. But it is wrong to believe they have sleepwalked into the possible need for a new manager. They sounded out Howe a month or so ago but got a 'no' from him. His missus hated it up north.

When was the last time EVERTON won a really important game? We Havnt been Liverpool for years, still havnt won at Chelsea/Arsenal/RS and even Utd(Moyes United doesn’t really count)
Chelsea fa cup final- chocked
Liverpool semi final - chocked
Beat Palace go 4th- Chocked
Man City Semi final-Chocked
Even this season, AV and Bournemouth lost both

That's Moyes fault?
Just read the last sentence you wrote...
You're actually blaming Moyes, Coleman, Baines and Kenwright for that?

Unless he is happy with the plan. You have no idea what is going on.
Sure, he could be very happy with how the club have handled the situation in the last few days. He could be quite content that the club have just let speculation run wild about him being sacked and not said a word one way or the other to clear things up. He could be very happy with that, Somehow I doubt it though.......

Silva is now in a now lose situation. If wins the the a few of the next games , he might keep his job or his stock will improve. If as will happen and we get a few spankings. He gets sacked with a big a pay out.

He's just not that good, that's why.
I'm not a big fan of Gomes either, both seem to be highly thought of by Everton fans.
As soon as we see a cruyff turn or a drop of the shoulder, a load of our fan base think they’re superstars. The fact is these two players will score a combined ten goals in about five years. I heard a podcast the other day on Everton moments of the decade. One of them was Fellaini spinning Bellamy. I thought wow, we must be dog ****

Where you heard this mate?

theres enough in that team whereby we should be playing a hell of a lot better. I agree that those listed shouldn’t be playing, but they are on the decision of the manager

he’s either to scared to challenge them or to scared to back his own plans (formation and style).

something goes wrong and he instantly goes back to “throw the senior players in and they’ll get me a result” even though every fan in the ground knew a poor performance was on the horizon against Norwich because of that selection.

I’ve said it before, he should be stamping his authority of that team and not shoehorning people in and changing his ways. If Walcott, Icelandic tit, French tit can’t do the job he demands, then they should be out of the team.

I really, really hope that this virtual sacking sends a rocket up his arse and he goes in and is ruthless to every player. Unfortunately he won’t

The senior players did get a result and he kept them in for the Norwich game...rightly or wrongly he stuck with a winning team.

I actually think we have been quite similar to Spurs this season in the sense that half the squad know they are on the way out and so arent making any effort.

I do think losing the 3 centre midfield signings and the only creative wide player is a killer and i also find that its harsh to come down on Brands when were only 2/5 into a 5 year plan.

To be honest though, when Brands came in I was expecting top 8 but would have been fine with top 10 for the first 3 seasons as he and Silva mould a new squad.

We look at the table and everything that could have gone against us pretty much has...injuries, form, VAR and luck. Even with that I think the VAR decisions have killed us in a similar way to the RS result last season...

Those 5pts more (2 wins) would have seen us on a run and of course points dropped around then may have been gained as we would have had our chins up.

One thing im sure about is that we will do some serious business in January...if Silva stays they need to back him and if its a new manager he will want his own players.

How did you hear that?

Marco has been given the opportunity to walk away with his head held high by doing the honourable thing and resigning.

A hastily organised conference, citing reasons along the lines of, “I believe I’ve taken the Everton Football Club as far as I can and now it’s time to find a new venture/challenge/project. May I wish the Club on all levels every success for the future. Thank you” , is all it takes to relieve he and his family of this relentless pressure.

Many will read into that what they can, but it would enable him to leave with a little more dignity that him getting the inevitable push.

But the greedy little get won’t ‘cause he wants his handsome severance pay.

Well good luck with that one: at least he’ll have plenty of time on his hands to spend it.

Are you advocating a change of manager. I can see spurs, with a new manager now flying up the table and putting considerable points between them and us.

I have no issue with Brands; however I have issues with the manager playing Gylfi and Morgan who are the slowest players in the league and nullify and speed we have on the counter. Having the two wingers hug the touchline is another considerable fault of the manager, he can simply revert to 4-3-3 and let Iwobi and Davies (for my sins) and have someone just sitting and not moving. Those have enough legs to get into the pockets and they constantly look for the forward a ball; just discipline the rest of the team to be aware that with risky passes come increased chance of losing possession so be prepared to reshape and press

We look at the table and everything that could have gone against us pretty much has...injuries, form, VAR and luck. Even with that I think the VAR decisions have killed us in a similar way to the RS result last season...

I'm not into the "blame VAR", the simple fact is it should never have come to this discussion; we have enough to bury those teams. But if my uncle were my aunt n'all that lark, its a baseless argument. You deal with whats in front of you

One thing im sure about is that we will do some serious business in January...if Silva stays they need to back him and if its a new manager he will want his own players.

Won't happen, it'll be loans at best.
