They will sack him Sunday night. Then unsworth will step in for the derby, we get cained both games then they get a new manager. - club is a disgrace really is.
Still don't understand how they can sacrifice the next two matches; do they actually realise that the likelihood of us ending the year in the bottom three exponentially increases after we lose both of those matches?

Okay, let's try to be concrete. Big Sam, who was the last coach before Silva was hired, achieved a points average of 1.42 per. match. The season before, ie the first season for Koeman, we had an average of 1.60 pr. match. He was sacked the following season with a point average of 0,89.

Silva replicated Big Sam's performance, earning an average of 1.42 per. match. Given our ambition to close the gap to the top 6, this was a bit below average performance. However, as the faithful supporters we are, we realize that it can take time to play football the way Silva wants, and it takes time for new players to adapt.

We are now 13 games out in Silva's second season, and we have an average of 1.07 points per game. We play terrible football, would rather watch paint dry, and have a goal average of 1 per. match. It is also very difficult to see where Silva wants to go with this project. We have also invested heavily under Silva, but this we have generally done lately as drunken sailors.

My thoughts are that the minimum goal is last year's points average and that he has done a good season if we achieve an average of 1.57 per. match. This gives us 60 points, and then we are 1 point behind what Koeman achieved in his first season.

If he manages a point average of 1.8 pr. match it is a very good achievement. Then we end up with 70 points. If he manages the top four he is a magician and is most likely on his way to Barcelona. Unfortunately, a point average of 1.07 indicates that he is on his way to Bury.

So that he manages to repeat last year, and maybe manages to improve last year's performance is not an unreasonable expectation.

Yes, he is good in Klopp's system, he can run a lot and close players down. That's the point, Klopp's system gets the best out of Henderson, but put Henderson into City's team and he'll look lost.

Legend Nils Arne Eggen always said: "A football player is not just a product of himself, but first and foremost a product of a team.",

It's an interesting point and I agree to an extent, but by this theory, De Bruyne wouldn't get anywhere near a Klopp team.

Silva isn't wholly responsible for this mess. Brands has a part to play. Walsh has a part to play. Moshiri too. For me, it largely boils down to the players on the pitch.

Cannot agree with you. We may be better than our position suggests due to bad management, but our squad is also lacking in key areas, notably up front (the area that wins matches).

We simply are not good enough to be at the top as our recruitment has been poor.
Fair enough.

I can guarantee you all of our players would play better under a better manager.

De Bruyne I am unsure about, but think of players like Xavi, Silva and Inestia in Klopp's system.

I agree that it's a cumulative mess, but I have faith in Brand's strategy, and at the same time I doubt Silva is the right coach in this process. The results speak for themselves, he has no excellent results to show for, and he appears as a coach without any progressive ideas.

Didn't watch it, but I feel it only supports my point that he is an extremely limited footballer who has, through good coaching and management, made the absolute most of his gifts.
Thus highlighting my point that the manager is generally to blame/praise for players playing well/crap. If a whole team is playing badly then it is even more obvious the manager at fault.

Klopp took a while to turn liverpool around to be fair.

Our players really are not that good. When have they been excellent in the past?
All the non-academy players have been excellent in the past, thats why we bought them. All are under performing due to a poor manager

It's because they have no clue who to replace him with, and if we end up bottom then the fan base might just accept Moyes as an option.Think Moshiri is already doing his sums with the parachute payment.

It’s his job to get them playing mate. You have to ask why about 15 football pros are not playing well together. I guarantee you if they played for pep or klopp next week they’d all be brilliant
Manager makes the teams play not the players

Sure, I get that Playing for one of the probably best managers in the world would increase the motivation of the players but does that mean that it’s ok for them to not even try when playing for an average manager. They are absolute gobshites.
