2019/20 Marco Silva

....surely it’s in the scope of Marcel Brands‘ role to identify and recommend a new Manager. Moshiri seems to accept he’s not a football person. Kenwright might want his input, but I expect Brands to be the key player here.

tell you what, it's a good job kenwright doesn't own more shares anymore

he'd have had moyes here weeks ago on a 6 year contract

I just hope moshiri does the right thing and lets brands ( a football man ) decide who's next

although some are saying brands was involved with silva, I reckon he got told when he came to go and get silva and not "go and find someone"

moshiri picked him

Farhad Moshiri is not convinced with the possible appointment of David Moyes. Bill Kenwright and CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale are keen on Moyes returning to the club but Moshiri wants a manager who can excite fans (Source - Football Insider)

They can chat about wants and dream signings all they want as long as every single one of them stays far away from the actual hiring process

Rodgers has Vardy + Madisson, Ndidi, Tielemans in the centre.

As i was saying to the leicester fan @FOXINPEACE before the season those 4 are better than any of our players in the same positions.

When you have no centre midfield and kids up front is a different timeframe for success.

If only we had finished above them for the last 3 years and spent 2.5 times what they have in that period to improve, perhaps we wouldn't be in a position where we're miles behind. I got battered for posting this in July.

Again, game of opinions but for me:

Schmichael > Pickford

Pereira > Coleman
Maguire > Keane
Evans > Mina
Chilwell < Digne

Ndidi = Gueye
Tielemans > Gomes
Maddison > Sigurdsson

Barnes > Bernard
Vardy > DCL
Albrighton < Richarlison

And I got back.....

Maddison over siggy LOL

Are people honestly saying Leicester are better than us?

This deserves a ban.

You think Madison is better than Siggy even though he got less goals and assists this season, you opinion is now null and void. We appreciate the effort but its time for you to give up with this hypocrisy

Not sure if that post was just wumming mate, but if you are being serious I'd just support Leicester if I were you

I think my favorite here is Maddison over Sigurdsson.

So why would you have Schmeichel over Pickford then? He's 7 1/2 years older.

On reflection it looks like I sold Leicester short.

@Zatara look at the progression of Rodgers/Santo at Wolves and Leicester - 18 months into any job should see progression no matter how small and if there isnt questions have to be asked.

Nobody is saying that Silva isn't at least partially to blame. He is absolutely culpable.

But he's not wholly responsible for this mess, that's the point. Brands, Moshiri and, for the most part, the players have to shoulder a big chunk of blame between them too.

The right thing would be to take out an injunction against Bill, that keeps him away from all premises owned or used for the purposes of Everton FC.

@Zatara you say its not Silva's fault and that the players aint good enough...... But then you stick up for Brands and state he's signed largely good players

Who's fault is it then as you contradict yourself massively bud.

Both have had 18 months into the job - look at the progression of Rodgers/Santo at Wolves and Leicester - 18 months into any job should see progression no matter how small and if there isnt questions have to be asked.

Our players aint top 6 quality but they are better than half the other teams in the league atleast yet we are 16th playing crap football - thats down to Silva and the coaches.

What ive actually said is that the squad isnt good enough.

Brands has signed good players but the remaining 50% of the squad know they are on the way out. Which means not enough players have been signed yet.

5 players on average per summer on permanent contracts...quite reasonable. As is Brands 4-5 years before we only need 2 signings per summer.

2 summers in, lets say 2 more to go and another 10 players added to the squad...

50% of the squad obviously not best happy and expecting to be sold or wind down contracts...of the players signed, 50% of those arent able to get on the pitch much so far.

If only we had finished above them for the last 3 years and spent 2.5 times what they have in that period to improve, perhaps we wouldn't be in a position where we're miles behind. I got battered for posting this in July.

Leicester had the nucleus of a very good side.

RB
3 × CM
1 × CF

Thats 50% of a top first eleven (minimum) who were already in place. We had about the same...i actually put us down as 6 and Leicester at 5 in terms of a joint team in summer with @FOXINPEACE

If you rip out their 3 midfielders (as ours are injured) then i would predict they wouldnt do as well. I think thats a reasonable statement...

EDIT: I forgot about Chilwell. The point stands though, 3 centre mids out...you see a different side.

Really its only 1 CM out as we have been just as gash all season with both Delph and Gomes in the side - Davies has been better that the pair of them.

I just feel like you are too much of a fantasist mate - constantly hoping for something thats never going to arrive.

Silva is no friend of ours Zat.

No mate, they only had Vardy, and Ndidi joined in Jan 2017. Perreira, Maddison and Tielemans all joined in the last 18 months.

If you took out Ndidi and Tielemans (equivalent to Gomes and Gbamin) then they'd still have Hamza Choudhury, who has played very well this season, and Maddison through the middle. It would be difficult, but they'd cope. Also, they've just signed Dennis Praet who can play there. They've spent well.

It's also worth noting that we were playing awful with Gomes in the side. Davies has outperformed Gomes all season. And Gbamin is a bit of a wild card, nobody really knows what he's going to be like.

Without switching the focus to Leicester, my argument is that it's been done elsewhere on a smaller budget so you'd have expected much much better from us.
