You are picking a once in a life time situation. And they didn’t just sit back every game. Maybe in a few high profile games against the big teams it looked like they played counter attacking football.Steve, you really think that the only way to success is to try and emulate Barcelona and Man City to reach the top.
Remember, Leicester won the league having been quite rightly 5000/1 pre season. They did it because they stumbled on the perfect counter attacking
system with right set of players. Those players individually were worth way less than the players of about 6 teams that year but won the league over 38 matches.
The majority of things I pointed out were nothing to do with the players, they are too do with personal preference and stubbornness. He wants to zonal mark, he wants to play 4-2-3-1, he doesn't see the necessity to change tactics in games where we are struggling to gain control or need to break a team down. The team is not blended.
IMO that's a lot to do with the dual power of coach and DoF.
I dislike the latter post, it's a BS one for me. It leads to confusion and lack of clarity of purpose.
Problem is when you dont improve you stand still, stand still in football and you go backwards. We have spent hundereds of millions on goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, attackers and not improved 1 iota in about 4 years,
But you need to virtually forget about the first 2/3 years under Walsh & koeman. Apart from 2 or 3 players it’s been a very expensive disaster. We have spent hundereds of millions on goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, attackers and not improved 1 iota in about 4 years,
They aren’t way head imo. Started the season better obviously. I would still back us to finish above West Ham. And Leicester are a vardy injury away from their season becoming a totally different one.Problem is when you dont improve you stand still, stand still in football and you go backwards.
Clubs like West Ham and Leicester are way ahead of us now, and I dont just mean in the current table
I will just leave this here for clarity of how well we are doing under Silva before the cheerleaders get here. It is relegation form no matter how decent we were today. We still missed loads of chances and got beat 3 - 1 and should have done better regardless of the quality of the opposition.

We can be very good for 3 weeks then awful in week 4. That's not blending or recruitment, that's managerial shortcomings.
He should do himself a favour and consider a play B when option A isn't working. And clearly, the set up we have does not translate to away games: yet no change...

Dyche has a style. But why hasn’t he moved on to bigger team with money, because chairman know fans don’t won’t to see a team full of players 6:4” players. And the ball in the Air for 90mins.What er you talking about.
Dyche has kept the team with the lowest/2nd lowest wage bill in the prem for many seaons. If that isnt success your blind.
Fat Sam would impove the majority of prem teams.
Jose would improve just about every prem team.
Why are you making excuses? But you need to virtually forget about the first 2/3 years under Walsh & koeman. Apart from 2 or 3 players it’s been a very expensive disaster.
Brands has only really had 2 windows. Go back the last 15years abs plenty of teams wasted loads of money and not got anywhere. Or struggled to justify their spending. Even city with all their money were very lucky Witt the first 2 titles they won. It’s only pep that has really turned that team into a machine.
Chelsea didn’t in an era where there was huge cap between what they were spending, alongside Utd abs to a slightly lesser extent Liverpool, compared to teams just below them. If you look now at the last 3/4 years since we’ve had money. Teams like Bournemouth, West Ham, wolves, villa, Leicester have all spent big Money, maybe not as much as us, but the difference isn’t as big as you would think or the media would have you believe
Liverpool, spurs, Newcastle Leeds all had spells in the past of spending big money and not really winning anything. And in an era when it was a lot easier.
No I wouldnd want Dyche at everton but that has nothing to do with his `style' of football. If you tried to play free flowing football in the prem with Burnleys wage/transfer budget just about every manager on the planet would be sacked very quickly.Dyche has a style. Big Sam has managed a few big clubs. And been hated by the fans at all of them for his style. Out of interest would you have Dyche at Everton or take big Sam back?
As for Jose, he’s a world class manager, but as soon as it starts to go pear shaped at nearly every club the fans have turned. And because of Pep, Klopp and Poch. Jose style is outdated.
