Moyes looked depressed basically all the time, as did FS and koeman just chatted poo, it was only Martinez that looked happy

When Moyes first arrived he didn’t look “ happy” but he looked hungry , focused and whenever he spoke he was ambitious. After he signed his second Co tract , the time when he was stalling and demanding backing from bill and giving us a chance to join him and voice our views, he signed that piece of paper and basically sold his soul and agreed to work with no budget but got a massive pay rise. When he came he was one of the lowest paid in the league , 420k a year of my memory serves me right

Well that's a bit of a contradiction if you ask me. A good coach 1 on 1 but not all 11? Out of interest, which players do you think he has developed since being at Everton?

It really isn't though is it? A role of a coach is different to the role of a manager. You can coach a player to be better but that doesn't mean you are well equipped as a tactician does it? Look at Mike Phelan, did most of the day to day coaching at Man Utd under Ferguson but when it came to being a manager didn't quite work for him.

Richarlison is the obvious one, that boy has talent and has improved technically over the time he's been with Silva (but I cant bare Silva's idea of playing Richarlison wide right, tactically its illogical). While not a good premier league striker, DCL has become a better player. Digne has steadied himself, established himself as a top premier league player, we got him for relatively cheap but didn't quite cut it at barca, (al be it due to teh World #1 LB), roma and psg?.

I'm not defending Silva, I think he's remarkably lucky to be in the job after his 3 wins in 16 games spell last year, but im pointing out that the players by all reputable accounts like him and he appears to be a good coach, just not a good Manager. Also should be noted players improvements can be down to the other coaches as well.

Thank the lord the board don't just listen to whims of fans. You were all singing Silva's praises back end of last season.

Yes, this season has been awful so far but we also can't keep sacking managers. If we do sack Silva, who do we bring in? We need some consistency for a while and to finally let someone try and build something. Moyes had enough time didn't he? We lost a couple of key players in the summer and we are still trying to switch the squad around from the previous management teams.

Silva will get sacked the moment the board are aware of problems in the dressing room. Koeman wasn't sacked because of his poor start to the season, he was sacked because he was no longer taking training sessions or talking to players and it became a situation were it was clear he couldn't/wouldn't turn it around.

Silva had the team performing well enough last season to warrant a bit of time. Yes the set pieces issue is worrying but is also something which can be addressed.

We need to get out of this reactive way of working and start actually building something
You don’t get time in this league I’m afraid mate. He will be judged on now and not what may or may not happen in the future.

By all accounts the players like him.

He seems like a good coach to me, one who can develop a player working 1 on 1, but working as a manager of 11 in high pressure situations has shown he's not up for that.

Someone put a link on here the other week from a Watford fan before Silva joined us, he was saying something along the lines of, when things are going tits up on the pitch Silva just doesn't seem capable of motivating or instilling any fight into players.

This certainly appears to be true, but where’s the leadership in the locker room or on the pitch? Lots of blame to go around. Unless of course they’ve quit on him, which is a distinct possibility.

The players take their fair share of the blame as well mate.

It's probably got to the point with the players ( like it has with us fans) that they are scratching their heads as to why Silva keeps playing the same tactics week in, week out, when they're obviously not working.

I told my friend (the only other local Everton supporter I know) to please text me the starting XI when it's announced (6:30am here) so I know if I should get out of bed or not lol
