Whoa!! West Ham currently are not an 'extremely poor side'. They have some very good players and a shrewd, skilful manager. They also have a good ish away record. Today Everton played the sort of game they have sometimes promised to play....today it happened. Credit to Silva for the changes, and for getting the team up for it. Everton is a long job, it will not be great in five minutes, there is still a way to go. Silva is doing his best in a difficult job.

Not like you to read into something that isn’t there, Steve.

Today’s showing was that of an extremely poor side who spent much of the game on the ropes, despite a good start to the season; whether they can sustain recent form, for me, is neither here nor there.

If and when - although I sincerely hope for our sake we’ve turned a corner - normal service resumes, Silva will be the whipping boy again.

The fickleness of some never fails to amaze.

But not really, these games should be a standard win, we use to worry about our form vs top 6, now its West Ham and Brighton, that alone shows how far back he has taken us.
Today was great, but should be standard if we want that top 6 place that we talked about when the season started.
It's been a poor start. But bar the rs Everyone has been poor at times this season. We need to be better and more consistent. But to say we have regressed from Allardyces time is bs .

I often wonder if our terrible pre-seasons are part of the reason we are so slow out of the blocks. We never seem to have good pre-seasons. Bizarre.

First away game Wham have lost all season. Pellegrini has some good players and is a Premier League winner. Our form had been terrible. I've just had a City fan ring me and say 'Everton were superb today' A lot of the credit for this must go to Silva. Don't understand your first sentence...and I;m quite clever. Maybe it was sarcasm? I enjoy a bit of sarcasm,in some ways its a very scouse sort of humour. Nice one if so.

Agreed....though he made changes today that he would never have done before....the main change was man marking on the corner and binning zonal marking....so maybe...just maybe....

this is how stupid football is....if we win next week then beat Watford...he will be like the messiah..

He needs to win a league game after conceding first to be even considered a reasonable long term manager.

Today shows that the side is capable of taking the game to the opposition.

Can they unlock a rigid defense, be more clinical in front of goal and defend set pieces better.

Those questions will need answering positively in the coming weeks / months.
