I get that but we wont win 5 will we mate - some believe in fairy tales he had all the transition season excuses last season - this season was all about results and we are 13th.

When will fans start demanding more? Imagine if Liverpool had spent £450 million in 3 years to be 13th in the table yet RS fans made up over a home win against WHU after losing 4 on the trot - we would be kin wetting ourselves.

We all know its either a defeat at Brighton or Watford - Silva doesnt do 3+ games wins on the bounce so pick what you want lads 3 more league points or progression in the cup as you aint getting both with Magic Marco as coach.
I know what you're saying mate but let's just be happy tonight, plus it means I can watch Match of the day, instead of being in bed.

That must be it Zat, all those other games that the players have been cack (you know, Villa, Sheff utd, Bournemouth etc) must have just been down to a lover's tiff with Silva.
I actually think we have been playing quite well with major flaws. The defensive side especially set pieces have been mainly down to players nodding off or not taking responsibility at marking and some serious errors. Up front is our achilles heel and I still believe if we had that elusive experienced striker then we would not be in so much difficulty. Kean hopefully will gain experience of this league and get a few goals but it is all too much to expect a kid albeit talented to lead the line consistently over a season. We are a couple of players and tweaks short at the moment but in my eyes we are not that far away.

For me, the issues are;

We have 2 similar type of centre backs and no real covering defender who should be partnering one of them (Mina).

Coleman has been a weak link and Sidibe will have needed time to adapt.

Our two starting centre mids have mostly been injured which has forced us to go wide and rely on crosses to 2 kids.

Iwobi had no preseason + had to be brought in gradually after ACOB

Kean + Richarlison + Iwobi gives us 3 very quick players with great movement yet two of them have needed time.

In my view were short:

1 CB (rapid covering defender)
1 DM/CM (monster)
1 WF (Another Richarlison type

If we can bring in those 3 players then i think we will be a lot stronger.

Looking at the squad, we still have a lot to do in terms of getting players sold, improving players, improving concentration on set pieces and of course bringing more players in.

I think next summer we can start seeing results as thats 3 summer windows, however i do think we will need another 1 or 2 summers before the whole squad is capable of pushing the top 4.

Hes a top manager. You can see the improvement in the players over time, Davies today for example looked a different player.

Spot on about changing the team and tactics...

He really does need more players to play the way he wants and if we look at the 11 today theres not much he can do in the way of subs, or if we have injuries, to keep the same type of player with the same ability on the pitch.

Yes that is fair. Not just Davies either, Calvert Lewin, Keane and Richarlinson have all improved markedly under him and he has began to get the best out of Digne/Gomes/Mina.

The difficulty he has is his game management isn't really his strength. I always feel if he has time on the training pitch it will work well, but in game we don't respond that well. I'd also add, he will probably regret not implementing his style (which I believe today is close too) much earlier. I think supporters would have given him time last season had he done so and we'd have it more bedded in.

His challenge is to get enough results in the short term, so that the wider good work he does in the long term can be seen.

Today could be a big turning point though. He has stumbled on a set of players that look well balanced. Keep playing them and try not to deviate too far. We are still in touch with sides above us.

He needs to show what we have seen today for a prolonged period. However that was not a flukey win today. We battered West Ham. We played a new system and that system worked very well.

It feels like a step in the right direction. To use that analogy isn't the same as sayingwe have arrived, but we do at least look like a team that carries a threat. We need to keep walking in the right direction now.

None of this negates the bad start. Even if we perform well until the end of the season, we will look back on those first 8 games with regret. Even in the best case scenario. However if lessons are learnt and we can move forward well then that is still a positive.

We need a lot more of what we have seen today, and that has to be from now. He won;t get away with another run of poor performance like we've seen this season for the rest of his contract.

And if we believe what we are led to believe we wanted Doucoure, Zaha and Zouma. They fit the above 3 you are asking for.

Really hope you're right mate however as said earlier we battered WHU away from home 2-0 last season thinking it could have been 4/5 - very similar to today and we never pushed on.

I've said it time and time again he's our Puel - capable of getting the odd fantastic win and can play good stuff but nowhere near consistent enough to have us ever pushing for Europe.

I honestly dont know what the answer is as I don't know Moshiri's ambitions- if the target was to better 8th then thankfully we have 29 games left of Silva as he isnt good enough to put us in a position to win 4-5 games on the bounce which is what teams in the top 6/7 can do.

Leicester are 7 points ahead already and have played more of the top teams.

Imagine what will happen today if Schneiderlin is fit and presumably starts ahead of davies. The team won’t be able to get a grip in midfield and ponderous going forward and that will probably cement his departure.

I don't mind Puel as it happens, but he's a much younger coach than Puel and you hope capable of learning from difficulties.

In fairness, we were quite consistent after the West Ham game last season, and went on a run of getting 2 points per game. If we can do that over the next 2 months or so that will be very helpful. I'd go as far as to say that will be quite critical for Silva if he has any long term ambitions of being here. The end of last season came at a bad time for him, there will be no end of season for him, if we get on a good run he will have to sustain it.

I am not sure I buy this good teams argument. We battered them all last season. We struggle against poorer teams. I think we will batter Spurs and United currently if we play anything like today.

We are off the pace, but not critically so. Rodgers sides ten to have a dip after a year or so of him so Leicester are due one. We need to sort ourselves out.

This result hasn't saved Silva. If he loses the next 2 he will be gone. But at least it's a template for how to play going forward.

We will have no idea if Silva would have played him or not. I suspect he'd have been dropped, I hope so anyway.

It will take a lot and I mean a lot for me to get behind this manager, unforgivable the two bad runs we have had under him in just over a season. He's not the man and we will continue to have peaks and troughs with him here in my opinion. OUT!
Great Manager...we can see what he is doing, get behind them...Get rid of him, get..I dont know. Won today anyway, unlike Boris again :)

Went through the middle today with precise through balls, thus carried far more threat.

We still went wide a bit when it wasn't neccessary. None of those crosses provided a guilt edge chance. The players we have do not suit that style as we have been pointing out week after week.

When the team plays through the opposition we will beat most teams in this league. The balance and energy was right today.

Hope he can keep this up now.

We have 3 lads playing centrally today who really want the ball. So does Bernard who drifts inside. We have really missed that.
