2019/20 Marco Silva

I'm a long term critic of Silva (season and a half that is, lol)
but would ditch my righteousness in a heartbeat, willing accept humiliation and whatever other demeaning things can befall me

Marco, please, please, please, i'm begging you, hands and knees, find the inspiration and nous needed and get us through to the final and in form.

Barely threatened other than from set pieces and our finishing remains rubbish. Richarlison goal makes it seem much better than it was on paper.

We only beat bottom of the table who havent won a game yet.
Not sure you can say finishing is rubbish. We hit the bar and had a shot cleared off the line in open play.

To be fair, we were absolute garbage tonight except for a spell in the 2nd half. Slow, boring, predictable. No one getting behind the defence, ball just worked from side to side. No urgency, no support for players or movement on or off the ball. Clueless. It’s just not good enough.

We're a win against Spurs from settling this down again. 3 wins in 4 games will be a base to build on.
I'm still just about of a mind that it would be better if he could stumble along until the end of the season. That has to be where he and Everton part ways, though.

I’m one of Silva’s biggest critics, but sometimes that is by design. You lull the defense into a false sense of security and then you turn the pressure up tenfold for a short burst. We did it against Brighton (and it technically worked to perfection until that penalty decision).

Still on the Silva out committee, but I’ve seen this plenty of times from top sides. They suck for 60-70 minutes then pile the pressure on against tired legs. Just playing devil’s advocate

I’d be happy to think you have a point. But we both know it’s not true. We’re just a very poor team, way below Leicester and Wolves never mind the top 6. 10 points from 10 games with a tough December to come. Giving me kittens because I can’t see it getting any better under Silva. Was happy to give him time, he’s had it, we are going backwards as far as I can see.

I agree that we have been poor, but most of that has been born out of Silva’s decision making (and injuries). He finally dropped Sigurdsson (way too late to save his job if you ask me) and Gomes, for all his faults, was sorely missed.

We absolutely should have taken that Brighton game; the press was perfectly timed and caught Brighton out of sorts. The second half in this one was really wide open compared to the 1st, and as a result we got our goal.

So do I think Marco is a clown? Hells yes. Should he be fired? Please fire him before he runs us into the ground. Do I think he has been relatively decent in the last two games? Yes. Away games are never easy as Brighton proved. Watford treat us like a freakin rival so it is never an easy game. Overall, I think he has done okay the last two. That VAR decision was criminal and robbed us of 3 points.

Too little . Too late

Baffling statement.
On one hand he says we need to be slow and patience to break down a solid defense.

on the other hand acknowledge we only played well when we have urgency and up the tempo.

I wonder what sort of tactical instruction he gives out every week to confuse the team. not surprise why we see the team hopelessly clueless almost every week.
