Spurs are a Champions League team and we are mid-table dross.

People keep asking for top class players and managers but need to realise they will be of an age where we are an average club. Most don’t know football pre- Premier League, so History means nothing to them, it’s all here and now with them. Only results and league positions will change it.

Spurs were average not too long ago, RS were mid table for good part of last decade, Leicester were nobody but all three clubs are well run with long-term stable strategy. I think there are still good managers out there who would take up Everton job if there was a sensible planning, recruitment policy and realistic goals. Its not too difficult to reach where we want to reach, just requires a bit of common sense by Everton hierarchy. Unfortunately, common sense is not very common within the club.

Leicester are a very good side who've done well with recruitment, but let's not make out like they've had this really well thought out strategy when it comes to managerial appointments. Since their current regime took over 9 years ago they've had 8 permanent managers, and have lurched between completely different styles and personalities. If Nigel Pearson's son wasn't a racist kerb crawler they'd probably be back in the Championship being managed by Slavisa Jokanovic.

It doesnt matter how many managers they have had, just look at the squad quality and the success. Ranieri and Rodgers were top appointments. They didn't think twice before sacking Ranieri after winning the league and they were probably right. Nothing emotional just business and a bit of common sense. Leicester are probably the only club outside top 6 where a good manager would seriously consider a job offer.

Well it matters when you're talking about them having 'a long-term stable strategy' doesn't it? Unless that strategy is to sack their manager every year, they either don't have it or they're not very good at implementing it.

That doesn't mean that they aren't a good side or that they haven't made good decisions, but it can hardly be used as evidence of stability.

They got Redknapp in who won em a cup and got them in the champions league. They also had a world class player breakout in Bale and spent a bit when they got into the top 4.

Pretty simple steps. We always could've took them by capitalising on opportunities which we never did.

Similar to this season really. 3rd and 4th is wide open this year yet we're lagging behind
