As I mentioned in the minor fume thread, my sister flew over there yesterday for a wedding, they were stuck in the airport overnight awaiting news but thankfully the area they are staying at is clear from the fires as it’s 19 hours drive away and they are safely at their hotel

Jet2 and Tui have cancelled all flights out there but EasyJet were still allowing flights out as of earlier which is hugely stupid and greedy on their part

Hopefully the tourists stranded can find shelter or get moved to none affected areas of the island and still get to enjoy their holidays but it’s a scary scary time

Girl on sky news today was saying she was staying at a hotel with her kids and was repeatedly told to stay put. Next thing, all the staff and reps effed off and left the guests there.

She says that had to trudge off in the middle of the night looking for safety with the fire catching up to them. She said some fella eventually pulled up in a truck and gave them a lift to the beach.Apparently the beach is the safe place. It'd be a bit off going snorkelling in the midst of all that.

Sounds horrific but no news of anyone harmed I don't think.

Sadly moving closer to this area ..... before it was about 45km away............ now its about 18km away with another 3 villages evacuated. It is so so hot and I am not one to complain about it. Constantly have my head in the sink when I have a minute.... xxx love you all xx
