My sister has ended her stay early and is on one of the collection flights going to Gatwick today which is a massive relief for my mum.

Read yesterday that TUI were still flying folk out there over the weekend. Upon arrival Holidaymakers were being told their hotel was closed due to evacuation.

Jet2 apparently cancelled their flights. Get the feeling TUI decided they'd rather not take a hit on cancelling flights. Must be mad to even think going there is okay, so I do wonder about those who flew.

Anyway, I hope it's not too chaotic out there marnie.

Not good mate. The winds are battering the place which is spreading it. BY Tues night Wed morning 1am the winds should drop to 5km an hour at the moment they are at 40 to 45 kmh where I am. Fire fighters literally pissing in to the wind. Water planes trying to put out the central fires and exhausted fire fighters and a rake of volunteers trying their best on the outskirts xx Grim is the word. xxx
