Marouane Fellaini - The next Patrick Viera???

A lot of top clubs appear to have looked at him and passed at this stage. Of course, they can afford to see how he performs with Everton and then poach him thereafter. We are the club taking the risk here.

I know that mate, but every transfer of such a young player with his potential, yet unproven at a top league, presents that risk. Same goes for the likes of Moutinho, Modric,Fernandes ect..etc... . That is the risk a club like Everton have to take, as we're not one of those clubs loaded with money and able to afford any player we wish. If he really fullfills his potential and becomes the new Viera, we more than likely will double our outlet on him, if he moves. If not, hopefully we can cut our losses. Having said that, I've seen him play on quite a few occasions and I'm convinced he can become one of the best.

I've seen him play 3/4 times to be honest and he's a monster, especially when it comes to high balls. Dominant is a word that suits him, not many centre midfielders will be able to hand him physically. The likes of Gerrard where struggling and Gerrard is quite a physical player.

His distribution was neat and tidy, I don't think he's very creative but he is comfortable in possession and he can keep the ball. All you need from a defensive midfielder really.

The one thing I'm not to certain about is his mobility and agility. It'll be intersting to see him in a fast paced Premier League game where the game is contiually moving from box to box and there's no control. Smaller players could get the better on him in these situations.

Vieira was big and strong but he was also mobile and could get around the pitch, hopefully Fellaini can do that for us.

He's more of a box to box midfielder than a defensive one, thats what Moyes said anyway. He highlighted Castillo as the Carsley replacement.

He best be good for that amount of wedge.

Most Evertonians were more than prepared to spend 20m GBP on Moutinho. That's also way to much imho, but sadly it's the going rate for young players with top class pedigree. Think Fellaini definately falls in that category and hopefully he can live up to his potential. I'm for one am very happy with his signing.

Moutinho is worth 20 million imo.

He's exactly the player we needed too.

He's not a defensive midfielder though. Defo a box to box player, a 'proper' centre midfielder in my view.

He can play both roles, according to him he wants to play the defensive midfield role.

Probably cus he knows from the media over here, they have probably answered him questions whether he will be Everton's new DM. So he will say yes i will play any role etc.

I'm sure if Castillo slots in nicely, Moyesy will give him the freedom to patrol box to box.

He said I will fulfill the defensive midfield role and provide protection to the back four. As I said I think he'll play both roles for us, the box to box and the defensive midfield role.

Again I worry about the lack of creativity if he is the more attacking midfielder, that's not his game and he won't create. I'd like to see him and Osman in the middle, that has good balance to it.

I would have loved him to come Cal but I thought a strong midfielder/defensive mid was more of a priority mate. Accommodation Pienaar, Arteta and Moutinho is wonderful against gash clubs but suicide against the better ones.

I think Arteta and Pienaar will provide more then enough creativity to do us against the lesser teams but it's when we play the likes of Pompey, Villa, Spurs etc when will need Ossie for creativity. I still think he is often too small and lightweight for the games against United and Chelsea.

I was wanting to bring in both Moutinho and a defensive midfielder.

Obviously Blue Bill didn't have the kinda funds we needed.

A DM was the bigger priority, Castillo is that and if he's not then Fellaini should be. Dont get me wrong, adding Moutinho to the mix would have been superb but we dont have 40 million, nor did I expect us to have 40 million. Chill lar, we'll be boss again now.

Well i would of liked us to have brought in Moutinho for 20 and M'Bia for 10.
