Back to Fellaini, Ive been critical so its only fair to say I thought he played well today, tackled like he gave a [Poor language removed], ran a fair bit and very rarely wastes a ball.

This five in midfield business might give him space to breath. Well done Mr Moyes for reverting back to the 4-5-1 too.

For some reason 4-5-1 makes the whole team more comfortable. The defence has extra cover and the midfield get more goals.

Fellaini is going to be a player for us of that I have no doubt, great first touch and a superb engine.

I know its way to early to call but the balance in midfield worked well today even with the absence of a traditionaly defensive midfielder. Arteta was superb it has to be said.

Hopefully the £15 million man will prosper.
 

He did okay today, interchanged positions with Cahill which gave us good balance. Kept the ball well and won the ball back a few times.

He's painfully slow though, that's the one thing that will hold him back. He gets bypassed a fair bit which is why it's good that he can swap positions depending on the game. In some games the more mobile and tenacious Cahill will be better in midfield.

Good performance from Fellaini though.
 
He did well today. I said he was just a standard centre mid the other day, which was a bit harsh. He's never going to be any better than 'quite good' as a footballer, but you just can't forget that he's 6"4 and a bit. That is his standout attribute. There simply aren't many midfielders around who are as big as he is but also as good as he is. He's like Papa Bouba Bouba Dooba, but a much better player.
