i think Isco would be more realistic (obviously). Personally think the largest weekly wages will increase to £125k for our top players to re-sign and i would imagine James would be on £150k now and the transfer fee is too high.
I could see us going for Isco to play in the central areas, possibly RCM linking with Deulofeu BUT not sure he would want to leave Madrid as i thought hes playing games there and alot of players would take 20 games at madrid rather than 40 games elsewhere.
Not to make this a Martinez thread (again) but i do think we should be looking at Spain. We have Martinez and the goalkeeping coach who are both Spanish + Robles and Deulofeu. I would like to see us go for Sergio Rico, Sevillas keeper.
I remember when Arteta was our top player but never got into the spanish squads. I think it would be good if we went for a Rico/Isco which would mean their national team scouts were also watching Deulofeu.

Don't know whether he'd want to leave but he's been consistently linked with moves away since he got there. He's involved in a lot of games but frequently from the bench or he's the one to get subbed when started. Zidane benched him for CL game last night so maybe doesn't see him as a key player (also benched James).
Suppose we won't know unless we put in a bid. He might well fancy having a team built around him. I'd expect that £125k p/w would be enough for him too.
Obvously we should sign players based on their merit, but Isco has a higher profile than Del so he might get more Spanish scouting exposure as you've said. Think thats applicable regardless of the manager though. Not seen enough of Rico to be honest but will have a look next time I see a Sevilla game on.
he's worth what desperate club like Everton are prepared to paybig fan of james rodriguez but real massively overpaid for him based on a couple of games at the world cup. he's worth £25m tops.
great..exactly what we get for LukakuRumours are Man U and Chelsea are both looking at Rodriguez, and Madrid are willing to let him go but would be looking for £60m!!!
great..exactly what we get for Lukaku
so we pay extra..we would be desperate if Lukaku leavesProbably would be a queue of clubs for Rodriguez.
What you're missing is you need players like Lukaku in the side to attract other top stars.great..exactly what we get for Lukaku

We'll still have 100m to spend mate. What you're missing is you need players like Lukaku in the side to attract other top stars.
Who is James going to be slotting through balls to, Niasse?
Probably. But money talks. Jose can be convincing tooWithout trying to sound small - time mate, I think he's out of our reach methinks.
