Not sure if youre in the right thread here...Lukaku thread is elsewhere and the "Messi" call isnt actually relevant to this thread either?

its about which position to strengthen if no players are sold.

Reason being not only to determine the position itself for the summer but also to see which positions are standing out in terms of strengthening requirements.

As may be seen so far theres 4 positions which is over 1/3 of the team fans dont think the existing players are either good enough or can see the need for a major upgrade.

So this is quite interesting in itself.

Sign a player to win the game for us despite of the managers tactics, would be an ideal signing for us to make.....might even let us beat someone who isnt getting relegated you would hope.



But to be honest zat, i dont think any position needs strengthening. the goal keeper once Tim leaves sure but the rest of the first 11 is perfectly fine in my eyes, and in higher placed clubs eyes as well. The reason i believe some of them are not being world class every week, can be found in the Martinez thread

Lets say a new manager came in, he would assess the squad of course and see (in my opinion) a weak GK/CM/LW. Martinez can also see this himself as well as possibly the defensive positions which he hasnt strengthened yet.

So i dont think a new manager would see much difference than the current one.

If Moshiri did demand (like some owners do) that we spent on ONE big signing to showcase him coming onboard then i would like to see a LW player.

Reason being that Clev/Kone are not of the same level as Lukaku,Barkley,Deulofeu and i think with another addition on the left of similar quality it would add a lot of balance and mean teams cant double mark anyone.

Sadly though im also seeing a huge need for a CM General and also we need a superstar keeper like you said...those cost £20mil these days.

The expectation of the top players, those that will cost say £30 million will be that they are offered a remuneration package that will cost anything from £5- £10 million a years wages. Having a new majority shareholder and indeed the new TV deal is a problem for whist the UEFA FFP has to a degree been relaxed and isn't relevant anyway to clubs who aren't in Eureopean competition the PL version will in that there are wage growth restrictions and for a club like Everton who have not had significant commercial income growth there will be an issue

I have no doubt that players say like Gary Cahill , who I suspect will be available, will be coming for inflated fees say £10million ( thus enabling the selling club to sweeten the pill by way of a loyalty bonus) but I very much doubt that any players will arrive at Goodison whereby fees of in excess of £15-20 million will be paid out.

Well in response to that, a central midfielder. A big tough tackling leader of a team type of player that is highly respected in the game. that way potentially other players will want to come and play along side him.

Not Yaya though.

Id love a player like him though, one of the biggest modern shames is Barton, would have captained this club if he wasn't a tit.

Isnt he getting games there or is it just your dream signing? Where would you play him as i would guess he would be in Barkleys role so Barkley back in CM?

Think he would be £50-60mil surely?

I could see us making a splash for £40mil on one major signing at a push...like an Ozil for Arsenal level signing, maybe even thats a bit high.

I reckon we will see three guys in for £20mil+ and 3 more for lower fees
