We only signed him invite first place because the board knew they had no choice facing a huge backlash from the fans if they didn't sign him once made available. So equally, the board know they have to spend quite big on a new striker to replace him, because bringing Shane long in for example would be suicide

If the club allow Rom to leave - albeit for some humungous price - then we need a proven goalscorer to replace him.
If Pep Guardiola isn't keen on Joe Hart as has been rumoured, we could do a lot worse than try and sign him.
And a humungous price for Rom could potentially go a massive way to funding both his replacement and JH, so leaving whatever transfer budget is being allocated for other reinforcements.
The team needs a top, top goalie - Hart is very good, still young, hungry and he's British so no fannying around with work permits etc, and he wouldn't need to move house.
No offence to Joel Robles, but Hart between the sticks would be a superb foundation upon which to base/re-construct the defence.

its about which position to strengthen if no players are sold.
Reason being not only to determine the position itself for the summer but also to see which positions are standing out in terms of strengthening requirements.
As may be seen so far theres 4 positions which is over 1/3 of the team fans dont think the existing players are either good enough or can see the need for a major upgrade.
So this is quite interesting in itself.
