I don't think he's doing bad enough for us to be on his case right now but he's hardly kicked on or even came close to replicating his first season. Carling cup final would do enough to take my mind off mid table mediocrity though for this season.

The final would not be enough. He would need to win or else we would have lost to either Stoke or (I am not even typing them).

We have had a fairly manageable passage to the semi, needing pens to get passed Norwich. Man City will be a very big test over 2 legs but we have the players to do so.
Do we have the tactics though?

That's outrageous!

Time will tell mate.

Why do you think Rom chose us over WBA? Why do you think Del came back?
Bit of a soft question really mate, from a neutral point of view, if you had the choice to play for west brom or play for Everton who would you choose?? Bear in mind Everton were best of the rest then.
Del has stated when he signed he had offers elsewhere but chose Everton because the special relationship with the fans.
I'm not discrediting Martinez in any of the signings because of course he plays a part but to state rom is solely here just because of Martinez is a bit short sighted.

A manager can only receive criticism for bad signings, Prev. If he signs players that do well clearly he's fluked it and is not worthy of credit.
Didn't say that tho mate. Prev stated that rom probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Martinez, I'm just stating that's not really true as rom wasn't his target in the first place.
i wasn't discrediting Martinez, he deserves a lot of credit for the squad he's built.

I think a lot of people in Rom's shoes would have chosen WBA. It was familiar, he had success there, and the fans loved him.

Coming to Everton when he did there was loads of uncertainty. New manager, new approach, team off to a poor start.

Don't you think Del said that to pander to the fans? I mean his first spell here wasn't a resounding hit. He was benched by Martinez (rightfully so). You'd think he'd want to look elsewhere for first team footy.

Unless of course he believed in the manager.

LOL

no-one chooses West Brom over Everton

I've got to respectively disagree mate.
I think a young and ambitious centre forward who wanted to prove himself to mouriniho chooses the bigger stage that is everton 9 times out of 10, it's a no brainier.
Tbf Martinez deserves credit for bringing del to Everton in the first place, but I think del is an arm round the shoulder, need to be wanted kind of player and as a club we provide that for him, I don't think Martinez is an arm round the shoulder type of manager.
