I've got to respectively disagree mate.
I think a young and ambitious centre forward who wanted to prove himself to mouriniho chooses the bigger stage that is everton 9 times out of 10, it's a no brainier.
Tbf Martinez deserves credit for bringing del to Everton in the first place, but I think del is an arm round the shoulder, need to be wanted kind of player and as a club we provide that for him, I don't think Martinez is an arm round the shoulder type of manager.

What type of manger do you think he is Tony?

I think he's a good manager, he's got age on his side, but I think his stubbornness will prevent him from becoming a great manager.

Let's be honest, we can all see what he's trying to do and to be fair to him it's completely the right way for our club to be going forward, the foundations are there.

I can also the flip side of the coin, the team at the minute is equally exciting and frustrating to watch, more frustrating if I'm honest and I can understand the fume.

But I reckon it won't take long before we click, so I'll sit on the fence for a while.

I've threw my TV out the window, booted 3 doors in, threatened my neighbour twice, called the Samaritans 8 times, and dialed 101 146 times.

Call that 'Outraged' ? Pfft! :dodgy:

I drowned 8 litters of kittens, set fire to the neighbours' Christmas tree AND their presents, then I pished in me ma-in-law's pint & watched her drink it.....and when I called the samaritans - they were engaged!

Yeah that's fair enough, but if he's not an "arm around the shoulder" type of manager what type do you think of him as?

I mean generally people catergorise them as either "old school boot up the arse type" or like you said "arm around the shoulder type" and I really don't see Martinez as the dictator Harry Catterick style, so I'm just a bit curious tbh.

Why settle for 4th rate when the best manager in world football is available?

Tbh I don't think he fully fits either model, maybe somewhere I between.
I think his stubbornness swings him more towards the kick as type due to the way it comes across as its his philosophy, his players and no matter how bad it looks at times he's unwilling to change it.
He also makes examples out of players and isolates them if their not in his favour, Kev for example, which is why I said he's not an arm round the shoulder kind of guy.

Where would you place him??
