Martinez: Everton players fear Goodison Crowd

.....I think the managers remarks are totally inaccurate. The fear for me is that he is failing to realise anything is wrong. To say "we are a team who know exactly what we are doing" does not mean what they are doing is right. We are probably more set up to play away.

I'm not calling for RM to go but rather than look for blame elsewhere he should take a long hard look in the mirror.

You all have problems reading and/or are so biased against the manager that you are taking what you want from comments that dont mention the fans at all.

At least some of the comments say IF he meant that. Doesn't read like that at all to me, but I guess theres the possibility he is aiming a sly dig at the Ross-botherers.

As for excuses...whatever the managers say when obliged to give a crap interview after a game is unlikely to reflect what is said behind closed doors IMO.

Hopefully the results come soon starting with Wednesday, as he really is giving easy ammunition by picking Howard every week.

If the overpaid prima donnas actually beat some of the crap sides they have lost to the fans wouldn't be on their backs in the first place. I guess it is the fans who don't mark properly at set pieces or play bad back passes or miss sitters. Martinez has lost my respect and should get out now, I was prepared to wait and see what happened in the cups but he should go now.

The manager is right, there are some absolute whoppers at the games these days.

Guy next to me slating Barkley when he chose to go sideways when there was all that movement ahead of him...
It's horrible mate. I think more than half of our fans have never played a game of football in their lives. The atmosphere is toxic and has made Goodison a grim place to sit in.

Our last league home win was against the Villa, the worst side in the premiership by some distance, on the 21st of November 2015. Our next league game is at home on the 3rd of February 2016... 74 days and possibly counting without winning. That would've been more than enough for a manager to be getting the bullet in years gone by never mind calling the crowd out.

It's that bad at the moment that at kick off we were still in the pub finishing our beers and as we walked up to the ground we got to the spellow and seriously considered spewing the game off and watching it in the pub instead.

I wouldn't like it, and it'd deffo be weird, but I'd still be able to do my job with people booing me. Christ, I get sworn at, occasionally swung at, p*ssed on, shat on.
This is their profession and they're not doing thr basics right. It's not down to the crowd, it's down to coaching. How many times have a well drilled unit like Spurs scored from set pieces? But apparently its not important. Leicester treat defending like a goal may kill a relative. Defend deep, counter. They are top of the league- I'd swap that for our faux swag any day. We're the Amir Khan of football..

no wonder players are making mistakes by far the worst home support, booing and jeering every time someone turns back or loses the ball the players have already said about not liking playing at home, we will lose all of them, the likes of Barkley what do you want him to do pick up the ball take 8 men on and score proper joke if your going to go boo all game go to a liverpool game? can see the players playing with nerves!

Did it annoy you more than the crap being served on the pitch? The majority of fans work hard to pay to go and watch the team, all some of them want is commitment and pride from the players, that first 45 minutes yesterday was shocking.
About the same mate to be honest.

I agree with the rest of your post by the way but it's possible to believe that the players were crap and the fans reaction to that was counterproductive.

The two things aren't mutually exclusive.

See what your saying mate, home support is supposed to support are players definitely not boo! Away teams and fans must love playing against us dont sing and get on our players backs, only good game ive been to was city and even that not as good as a few years back, we seem to play a lot better from home were our support is a lot better coincidence? probably not

It's a fine balance.

I for one would like the crowd to be a bit more patient, but I understand why they get frustrated.

Unfortunately, getting frustrated really doesn't help the players in this young side.

Oh I've no doubt the fans make the players nervous. But to use us to mask their deficiencies in defence is pure out-house by the manager. I can honestly say I've never booed a player, maybe at a ref decision.
