Martinez: Everton players fear Goodison Crowd

I attacked Moyes for being a dullard who produced basic football and couldn't beat any team when t mattered in a big game.

Was I wrong?

Martinez has bottled every single big game hes had, which for the record, hasnt been that many, couldnt even beat Palace at home when it mattered the most.

Guess we find out on Wednesday if he really has what it takes.

The Kopite levels of entitlement are pretty stomach churning, tbh.

We're being compared to kopites now?

Have the rest of the evenin' off, squire.

It's a results business. So what do we expect of any Everton manager results-wise? Top four? Hardly realistic. Some place between 5th and 10th is acceptable? Well let's see where we end up rather than run around screaming with 15 games to go and lots of teams congested around the midtable point.

I really dont get the angst. Want guaranteed top of the table places? Get a billionaire in. Short of that just enjoy any attractive attacking footy you can see. There's not much else...other than a chance of a cup.

I agree to a point as finishing 6th or 10th makes not much diffrence to the average fan, I'd said for a long time I would rather have attractive football than what Moyes served up for vast portions of his stint in charge, Going into big games trying to "get out alive"

Problem is its only pleasing to watch when you are winning games, I can count on one hand games this season I have really enjoyed (League games) Villa,Sunderland,Southampton and West Brom, The rest have been games that has left you fuming because of dire performances or tearing your hair out at our inability to see out a game,

Nobody is asking for a top table finish, But is it to much to ask to have this side up there with Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham looking at a top 6 finish? I don't think it is

It's quite hard to enjoy the positives in this side when the negatives take a steaming dump on them every single game

I get the opinion that he's the right man for the job, I just don't get the fundamental 'he's perfect' thing.

And there is nout to suggest we will be sound in 15 games time.

My question is how many are booing? 2000 more
What about the ones who don't boo? He do they find the atmosphere?

The booing is normally at HT, nobody could even be arsed booing at FT yesterday, everybody was still shocked at how Coleman managed to miss that chance.

Its more the groans and the shouting when we play a ball backwards, baffles me, sometimes a forward ball isnt on, so the ball needs recycling, its just a basic lack of footballing knowledge from 90% of match going fans.

I personally think we should start making people sit football exams before they are allowed inside Goodison.

Plus we now have ironic claps when Howard catches a ball, groans when Barkley loses the ball. Stones not allowed to pass back anymore.

It's getting ridiculous.

Would you like to elaborate on this? From what I can tell, based on performances and results, teams are finding it relatively easy to get a result.
Well we are clearly breaking most teams down pretty easily and compared to last season and most other teams in the league it's definitely not turgid.
Our players run at teams as much as any team I've seen for years.
As for teams finding it easy to win. Who would that be? How many games have we been outplayed in? Or lost by more than a single goal, or drawn because of a ridiculously late goal, or offside goal, or missed great chances to win or hit the woodwork. Some of these are leftover criticisms from last season and if they're being dragged up now then people are obviously blinkered.
Seeing the good and the bad doesn't make people apologists for the manager. And having an opinion that says a lot of fans aren't helping things doesn't mean people are blind to other things that may help turn an exciting team into one that turns a handful of draws into wins and is challenging for top four.

You should be grateful to him. He's given you and the other moaners the only worthwhile football you've seen for 20 years
Oh Dave and you were doing so well. If you think this is the most worthwhile football we have seen you must have been fast asleep for the last season and a half. You really are convincing yourself that Martinez is the best thing since sliced bread, simply he is not just look at the last 18 months. We have gone backwards this season and he does not seem to have a solution for this hence the complete and utter crap / excuses he comes out with after every match we have not won.
