Martinez: Everton players fear Goodison Crowd

And to think - You're (allegedly) one of the respected 'elder statesmen' of posters on here.

And that (above) is what you think of fellow Evertonians who don't buy your incessantly feeble ramblings about martinez? Ones who see a totally different side of the coin...

According to you, they're all of the above. You're right, and anyone who disagrees will be pigeonholed. Any other risible accusations you want to dole out?

...Go on, why not get them off your chest!?

For shame. Carry on...deluding yourself that you're comfortably batting allcomers away, and from all angles, with your arbitrary scenarios and moribund excuses.

I haven't seen an example of one poster (who disagrees with you) that you've convinced in this thread. I'm sure you see yourself as some sort of modern-day Copernicus - Except you're just not. You're rapidly becoming a parody of yourself. Stop it.
I'm not reading that. Have you got the concise version?

Dont get bitter and frustrated mate. We'll be here in another 12 months from now talking about Roberto. You'll exhaust yourself.

We wont mate, he will 100% be gone in the Summer, the media are on to him now, the fans are on to, hes shifted the blame to the most important people at the club, its only a matter of time now.

And before you say it, no, Bill would never sack him, but our new owners will.

The thing is we dont know where we're finishing this season. You're saying another midtable place when it's only happened once. We still have loads of games to get nicely up into the top half.

I've said it before loads though: i;m NEA about chasing 7th rather tan settling for midtable. It doesn't mean anything at al. It's all nothingness. If we won a trophy it;d be the biggest boost we could have as a club. No 7th place no mark berth can be compared to that.

I think rather than quizzing me, you have to ask yourself what realistically is good as an objective.

Good objective for me would be full tilt at the cups and a top 7 finish

Our squad is easily good enough for that

Honestly I don't see us finishing above 11th this season

You expected far from better from moyes and didn't defend him like this.

Not defending moyes by any means here. In fact I wouldn't want him back here under any circumstances. But you can't criticise moyes and then give martinez leeway for doing worse.
I attacked Moyes for being a dullard who produced basic football and couldn't beat any team when t mattered in a big game.

Was I wrong?

It's actually mental that the players are scared of playing at Goodison.

Are they 12?!

Imagine we ever had to play Galatasaray or Besiktas. They'd all literally soil themselves.

Pathetic, isn't it? They should all play with ear plugs in if they're that frightened.

It might seen unreasonable, especially given that I've always been a Martinez fan. But for me he has to either win one of the cups this year, or if not he has to persuade Lukaku to stay in the summer.

Yes we will. Still not decided whether it will be because
1. He has a massive transformation and learnt how to get a team to win games
2. He is still struggling as badly as he is now and we're still debating why he hasn't been sacked
3. He has been sacked and we're all looking forward to winning games now and then.

Have you ever heard anything like it.
Yes I have... lots of opposition teams and players would regularly say it while Everton players would easily be buoyed by the Everton crowd.

Unfortunately, that situation seems to have reversed itself entirely: opposition players love to play here; our players on the other hand can't.

It'll be because the people in charge value their PL tv cash safe and sound and that we're playing our football with the aid of a decent GK to give it a secure base.

I don't like this distinction being drawn between travelling fans and those whom only attend home games these days.

For a start, the overwhelming majority of fans who travel away are to be found at every home game.

So the away fans are also the home fans.

And the vast majority of the rest of us have been travelling fans in our day.....in my own case Old Father Time and health issues restrict me to at most two away games per year, and then only to local away games around the North West or a London game if we go down there to weekend with my sister.

So don't anyone go thinking that home fans and away fans are a "different breed".

They ain't.....we are all cut from the same quarry.

The fact that travelling fans are by and large younger chaps and chappesses who find themselves surrounded by hostile natives in some far flung corner of England, being urged to "sign on" and "search in dustbins" is in part what brings out the defiant chanting and singing.

Put thise away fans back in their own bailiwick and they are moaning, groaning and chucking metaphorical cushions with those of us who blazed the trails to Barnsley, Middlesboro or Pompey long before they were born :)
