Martinez: Everton players fear Goodison Crowd

I think if we get knocked out on Wednesday he will be out of a job, that's how big a game it is for him imo.

If we just based it on league form he should have been sacked already, I said a couple of weeks ago the 1st leg semi final and fa cup came at a perfect time for us as it gave us some much needed rest from the league. He is incapable of picking a team and/or system to get wins, unfortunately results absolutely back that statement up.

I'm hoping beyond hope that with 7000 Evertonians roaring the team on Wednesday that we can give a good account of ourselves and get through. A performance similar to yesterday and that will be the end of our cup run and I think a new manager will be well overdue.

Lukaku and Stones won't be a shock but not for one minute would we sell anymore first team players than that

I will be shocked if Stones is still here no matter what happens.

I have always believed it was the prospect of week in/week out football in advance of the Euros which stopped him, or his agent, throwing a strop and pushing the Chelsea move through.

And I further believe part of the deal to keep him here was receiving assurances he could leave next summer.

It's a results business dave.

We're in the same position vs last season.

Yes, we've done well to get past Barnsley, Reading, Norwich and Middlesbrough. Hopefully we can go on and win it - then he can talk about that result.
It's a results business. So what do we expect of any Everton manager results-wise? Top four? Hardly realistic. Some place between 5th and 10th is acceptable? Well let's see where we end up rather than run around screaming with 15 games to go and lots of teams congested around the midtable point.

I really dont get the angst. Want guaranteed top of the table places? Get a billionaire in. Short of that just enjoy any attractive attacking footy you can see. There's not much else...other than a chance of a cup.

And to think - You're (allegedly) one of the respected 'elder statesmen' of posters on here.

And that (above) is what you think of fellow Evertonians who don't buy your incessantly feeble ramblings about martinez? Ones who see a totally different side of the coin...

According to you, they're all of the above. You're right, and anyone who disagrees will be pigeonholed. Any other risible accusations you want to dole out?

...Go on, why not get them off your chest!?

For shame. Carry on...deluding yourself that you're comfortably batting allcomers away, and from all angles, with your arbitrary scenarios and moribund excuses.

I haven't seen an example of one poster (who disagrees with you) that you've convinced in this thread. I'm sure you see yourself as some sort of modern-day Copernicus - Except you're just not. You're rapidly becoming a parody of yourself. Stop it.
Spot on Dixie;)

Ok mate. 'Consistently' obsessional it is then.

So basically anyone who disagrees with your increasingly flawed support of RM is fickle, lacking in substance, ridiculous & self defeating?

That would now cover a growing amount of the fanbase mate, you're aware of that, yes?
...so be it. Who gives a flying one about that? People are fickle. Hold the front page.

Wait and see how many desert that position they hold right now if a Wembley date is secured.

Cant be doing with that.

That's practically rewriting history. Martinez is under pressure to turn it round and I'm not convinced by many things, but some stuff is bordering on hysteria.
Would you like to elaborate on this? From what I can tell, based on performances and results, teams are finding it relatively easy to get a result.

You expected far from better from moyes and didn't defend him like this.

Not defending moyes by any means here. In fact I wouldn't want him back here under any circumstances. But you can't criticise moyes and then give martinez leeway for doing worse.

You be there on Wednesday ? Where you there on Sunday - I think not - just keep digging your hole and stop blaming your fellow Evertonians for the managers inadequacies - but you won't of course.
Dont get bitter and frustrated mate. We'll be here in another 12 months from now talking about Roberto. You'll exhaust yourself.

He's off, all right. Did you notice the sneer he had on his grid all day, yesterday? Every time his face was shown he was scowling. Thinks he's bigger & better than what he actually is... Primarily imo, because martinez has mollycoddled him.

Well, tara John-boy. :bye: We want big moolah though. £50m+ should do it & we'll buy ourselves a no-nonsense 'stopper'.
