Martinez: Everton players fear Goodison Crowd

His comments are a disgrace tbh. Any tension/unrest at Goodison has been created by the football he's had the team churning out for 18 months now. Instead of blaming the fans for his own shortcomings he should be concentrating on sorting things out at Finch Farm.
There has been a change in him. No doubt. His post at HT yesterday was a disgrace, he's a million times better than that and this crap. I'm a fan of his posts despite no agreeing with a word he says, this is not the Dave of a few weeks ago....the pressure is showing.

I reckon he's aged in the past few weeks like Moyes did in 8 months at UTD.

The defence (more accurately GK) has not been experienced enough to provide a base for the attacking play that's won a lot of praise.

It's revisionism in the extreme to suggest we haven't played great football this season. You surely see that?

The first sentence contradicts the second.

It can't have been great football if it isn't producing results. Good attacking + extremely bad defending = poor football overall. That's how it works. "Football" is both attack and defence.

If you can't see that, you lack an understanding of pragmatism in a results-based business; the same lack of understanding Martinez seems to have.

It's not too much to ask, no. But we've got 4 months of fixtures plus the cups to go yet

Remember when wigan had 4 months to go & were in the FAC?

Remember how their league form suffered because they did nowt but concentrate on the cup? And then once they won it their league form was perhaps the best it'd been for the entire season - but they just couldn't get over the line, like they did the season before?

Maybe if phil nevile hadn't played against them we'd have knocked them out, and they'd have stayed up...

You know @davek hasn't got a leg to stand on when his only response is to have a go at other people for tearing his POV to shreds.

No stats, no rational argument - just bile.

As said the other day, I'd love to hear a legit reason why someone would still support Martinez at this point. I've yet to hear one.

Maybe it best to stay calm and support the manager and the players until the season over, so you won't be supporting martinez then when we play city in the semi.

I'll be supporting Everton, as always. I'll be judging what my eyes see on the pitch, as always.

I won't have a predetermined view on anything. If Martinez pulls off a miracle and comes good, I'll call it as exactly that.

Instead of, you know, ignoring every fact and every scrap of evidence available to support a predefined viewpoint that flies in the face of those things, as some do on here.

Is this a joke? Too nice to the players? He is in no position to let any cups fly, half the reason for the poor performance is Roberto himself. He is hanging them out to dry with his pathetic tactics, and they are in the firing line from the fans because of it, while he just stands there with the grin of a retard on his face and his arms folded. Even Southall was saying on Talk Sport he has to take Howard out of the firing line and drop him to get away from the abuse but he is too stubborn to do it, even thou he has a goal keeper who has performed better on the bench.
All this playing out from the back looking pretty nonsense. Everyone gets on Howards back for passing the ball to Stones all the time and putting him and the side under pressure but he is doing that because he is told to do it by the idiot manager.

It's a serious concern right now at Everton that we might starting losing quality players, last thing we need is that clown pushing them closer to the door. As for saying the "players not performing on the pitch are to blame" sorry but i don't agree, the amount of goals we score says they are performing, but the problem is Martinez has no interest in the areas of the game that are costing us, he can do something about that be wont.
The players need to stop being so nice to Martinez

No its not a joke.

If you're used to managing people as Martinez is. In his case performance athletes.

Sometimes (rare occasions) you need to use the STICK. Not just the carrot.

I would counter that Martinez is not personally to blame for that backpass yesterday. Or the tomfoolery that we saw from Howard giving that insane penalty away.

If I was Martinez the stick would be out. I'd be battering one or two players with it at the moment. They're letting themselves, the manager and the club down.

It's not too much to ask, no. But we've got 4 months of fixtures plus the cups to go yet. I cant understand the hysteria.

People need to calm down and stop acting like Everton are used to CL football rather than being midtable fodder. Because that's what we were before Martinez arrived and that's what we are now. As said, I'm only remotely arsed in seeing us win stuff.

Come on Davek nobody is asking for CL football, but not one person including yourself can be happy that we are not up there in a season where Liverpool Utd and Chelsea have left the top 4 wide open to anyone who gets a run together

There is 4 months to go, but nothing in the last 18 months would suggest a run of wins is around the corner

You keep harping on about cup runs and winning them, reality is we have been gifted a route to a semi final this season, Martinez will not beat City then Stoke or Liverpool imo, City aside we haven't beaten a team in the top halve all season

I don't think this is true. We set up away to defend more and hit teams on the break, which we can be very good at. When we play at home the onus is more on us to break teams down which we are not so good at. Regarding comments made about fans at away games vs. fans at home games, I have been at away games this season when the atmosphere at times from our fans hasn't been fantastic. To a large extent this purely relates to what is going on in the game. At home games, particularly against the likes of Swansea, there is (rightly) an expectation that we should win. When we struggle the fans get restless. It was exactly the same last season. I was at the Southampton and Stoke aways last year and on both occasions there was a lot of anger within the travelling support, and understandably so because the performances were appalling. We have played much better away this season and despite the disappointment of some of the results there hasn't been the same level of disenchantment. I wasn't at Chelsea or Bournemouth this season, so not sure what the response to those results was.
That's the problem right there. That expectation to win against any team in this league other than Villa is misplaced.

People aren't paying attention if they cant see how massively more competitive this Pl is now. Thos old expectations have to be dropped.

The fact is we're fractions off being a very formidable team. RM is building this and will get it right in his own time and in his own way. That's jst the way it is and patience is called for.

But Martinez told Bill he would get us in the Champions League. With the squad he's got that should be the aim.

We have been lucky on this cup run, he hasn't been a tactical genius. We got past a poor Norwich side who dominated us on pens, and were dodgy against Reading and Barnsley.

Martinez is the one to blame not the players, they should be getting the stick oou for him not the other way around, last thing we need is that idiot pushing our players away from the club more than he is already doing.

On the one hand people are calling for players to be dropped.

On the other people are saying 'last thing we need is that idiot pushing our players away from the club'

Make your mind up. Which is it?
