Yeah but Martinez didn't inherit the mess Koeman did, in fact he had a well oiled machine and turned the dial up a little, you need a relative measurement that accounts for the train wreck Martinez left behind. To give an indication of what I mean, there are 9 games to go and we already have 3 more points than in both of our last two seasons.

To beat the improvement levels of Maartinez's first season, he has to improve the squad by more than Martinex's 9 points and 1 league place... 6 points to go... I think he can do it don't you?

Oh yes, nothing says success like 3 draws in your last 4 games against the likes of the 46th ranked Greeks and the 60th ranked Russians, especially when you get a key win against the imposing 119th ranked Estonians.

And nothing is so quintesential Davek like his wet dreams about Roberto, wishing back the days of 3-3 draws and back passes aplenty.

These are the most important ones I reckon. In general they are taking it easy on him. Belgian press is usually very friendly towards coaches, unlike the British press. This explains why Wilmots was able to keep his job, the coach who doesn't train on set-pieces or does tactical training.

However they do enjoy selling players.
