Have you ever thought that there may be cultural differences and that it's all normal behaviour in Holland lol

Tbf cross-dressing is quite popular during Carnival (quite similar in Belgium and Holland). That's a strange reason to dislike him.

The fragment is from a show were famous people play-backed songs. I wouldn't do it myself but maybe he'd lost a bet or something. Nothing to see there. Maybe it was popular in those days idk.

Outside of the transvesite community here, it's very popular with Stag Parties and the armed forces, when they want to wind the locals up and fight with them.

Here it started because working-class people didn't have enough money to buy costumes; so they borrowed their wives clothes. Now they have enough money, they still keep doing it. Fair enough. It made the Unesco list; this I do find funny.

No fighting here; Carnival is a strange period, everybody is friends with everybody and drunk people everywhere and a lot of touchy feely people in bars. You're allowed to do more than normally.

I have been to the full four day Ghent festival my friend and experienced all of the above ;)
