Sure it all went to crap in the end.But at least for a season under Martinez it felt like Everton were back as a force again.Im not sure did the latter end of the Martinez reign, have that dying a slow horrible death feeling that were enduring right now. It's kind of like Koeman has us slowly but surely being submerged in quick sand. The latter end of the Martinez era was a car crash. But the dire football and dire results that Koeman is subjecting us to over the past month, feels like another level of torment.A higher level of torment.

The end game for Martinez was his last 10 games in charge, from the West Ham home loss on. We lost 6 out of 10.
We've lost 5 out of our last 10 under Koeman.

At least within that Martinez final 10 game period we swept aside Chelsea in the cup with the type of guts and style this current Everton team could never get close to (before they decided they'd had enough and clocked off for the season).

This Koeman team cant play football. Even if they had the dynamism they clearly lack they couldn't play intelligent football. It's a shell of a team.

Maybe something happens if we give it long enough: a Coleman or Bolasie return and injection of pace and determination sparks something. But regardless, this right now is the worst Everton team since Walter Smith's days here. Absolutely no question about that. And with the money spent out that makes RK one of the worst manager we've had...if not THE worst.

Jesus, you have a very short memory.

3-0 at Sunderland, 4-1 at Leicester, losing at home to Swansea etc etc.....were you in a coma or something during this period?

We were going backwards so fast there was not even time to take in the scenery! The players looked uninterested, the players looked as though they had completely thrown in the towel. Remember Anfield?

I guess not.

There's no need for that Thomas.

Im not saying the latter end of the Martinez reign was great.I don't need a lecture of you mate telling me how bad things were towards the end under Martinez.Im just saying that the Koeman reign so far is pretty dire and miserable as well.I've always given Bobby plenty of well deserved stick.Im not really in the mood for that now though, considering the state of things at the moment.

Edit:Martinez never had us 16th before Bonfire night either.

aye, the thing with Bobby is that he brought us a fair handful of bright moments amongst the dross, and not all of them in his first season either...we played some insanely good stuff in Autumn 2015, even if not quite getting the results because of not finishing well or daftly conceding.

Koeman has that 4-0 vs City, but otherwise I'm struggling to recall any bright moments...and he's 16 months in so long past any honeymoon period.

Happy for Martinez doing well at Belgium, he's a good guy.

I think with Martinez he had such a way with words, you'd end up believing his positive spin on things at times! But the football under Koeman is the worst since Walter Smith, and most of the time with Koeman there's just this horrible inevitable feeling that were going to lose. The Martinez era was like some sort of crazy drug or something. The highs were great but the comedown from the highs were pretty hard!
