We’re seriously not revising this clown are we just because Koeman also turned out to be useless?

I think they'll be a natural comparison now that Koeman has been sacked. The difference being that Martinez raised expectations by how well he had done in his first season, only to fail spectacularly thereafter.

Koeman raised expectations because of the amount of money he spent, and the hype surrounding his supposed managerial ability (most of it from the media) only to fail spectacularly thereafter.

Both awful, Martinez had 4 exceptional players in Lukaku Barkley Stones Deulofeu and ended up bottom half twice. Average managers used superstars to fire Spurs Liverpool Leicester up into the top 4. We had a couple all at once and flirted with relegation. The problem with Martinez’s first season is that he betrayed everything that made it successful more and more as he went on so you have to question did he mean it?

Osman was ever present in that first season, Pienaar played a lot too. Both were injured in the second season then out form picked up as Osman came back and we moved away from relegation. How much of his success was just adding Lukaku and bringing on Barkley to what was a consistent top 7 squad, then as members of that squad fell away or lost form he couldn’t get to the same level.

Can he beat Mick McCarthy's record of a World Cup quarter final place? It's a tough ask, but I reckon with a much better set of players he stands a good chance. Don't let us down Bert.
