Martinez new Belgium head coach

Tbh everybody's exaggerating a bit. For some reason Martinez had said before the match that he would make the tactical system so that every player would struggle to gain data. Idk why; I could have told him that Ciman and Boyata are horrible most of the time and if you play them against fast players that there will be carnage. He should have played Vermaelen, Dendoncker, Kabasele if he wants to play 3 at the back. I hope he doesn't want to try Jordan Lukaku or another similar move against Japan.

I agree with De Bruyne that the game against Mexico wasn't good. He should start playing a bit better though; he was horrible in the Euros because he missed his baby and since then he's only shown glimpses. He played against Mexico with the handbrake on yet again. Hazard was very good as was Lukaku. Midfield was 5 Belgians against 7 Mexicans; was a mismatch.

This is the Martinez' response: http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/voetbal/Rode_Duivels/1.3096606

missing Felli? he's brings quite a unique set of attributes to midfield

It's off course always better when he's present; but Dembele, Tielemans, De Bruyne (and others) ... should be able to do a decent job replacing him. I hope it's better against Japan.

I hope that ^^^ boils down to:

"Shut it Tin Tin. I'm in charge here. Go and polish your cheeks".

You can watch it if you want to; it's in English. Basically he says that KDB has a point but that he should tell him in private because that is what the other players do.

I just googled this translation:

"I'm sure he's not angry or disrespectful. He cares for the national team and wants us to do well at the World Cup. I'll be sure to talk to him. The other players also have an opinion, but that one opinion has now been made public. All players can speak. It's useful to talk about our tactics and the system. But I will not change anything against Japan based on the statements of the past 24 hours. I would like to try something different to Japan, since August."

Basically: "I hear what you've got to say, but I make the decisions".

A player like that
rocking the boat is the last thing you need. I mean, it's not like Martinez has gone in there and got a shaky passage through to the finals.

RM should learn off his Everton
experience. He must be flameproof in the job, so great player or not, I;d be reading that feller the riot act and reminding him there's players who can take his position.

Tbf I'd prefer it if they would talk a bit more now. All the previous tournaments they said nothing beforehand; and after the tournaments there were complaints. Better do it now, when things can still be changed.

...yeah, but too many chiefs....
