The bit about Wembley you mention is absolutely spot on. From where I was sat, I remember us being dreadful in the first half and it was a matter of when, not if. Second half it was blatantly obvious the players had dropped the “Martinez way” and we played a hell of a lot better and truth be told were unlucky to concede as late as we did.

But at the end of the day it was yet another big game we lost under Martinez, and all the 3 nils against Arsenal in the world wouldn’t have changed that.

Big games. I miss them.

Who spanked us? Now you are just talking nonsense and you can only beat the teams in front. Last season we went out to similarly so called easy teams.

Moyes was here for 11 years. His average placing was 8th and we even make jokes on here about the 7th place trophy because of his tenure. He was a decent manager but we could have had him in charge for another 10 years and still not won anything.

Martinez was a manager who I thought could deliver us a trophy. Agreed he was also more likely yo get us relegated but that was a risk I was willing to take.
Arsenal spanked us 4-1 in 2013-14 and we got spanked 5-2 whem we crashed out of the Europa league. I made a post giving great detail on this only one page ago but obviously you didn't read because it was incovinant for your obvious agenda so the onky one talking nonsense is you.

Yes clearly you can only beat what's in front of you but that when you beat a few poor teams it doesn't make those wins worth boasting about. Yeah a win is a win but if you expect me to be over the moon about beating crap sides I'm not bothering. Yes we lost to crap sides last season, we did the same in 2014-15 under Martinez whem we lost in the 3rd round of both the league and FA cups. Again I examined all this in an earlier post that you responded to yet clearly didn't read.

Why do you feel the need to defend David Moyes? I respected the worked he did here in his first seven years saving this club from falling into the abyss but he was never a manager to take is forward yet he did a better job then Martinez. Finished higher then Martinez and did as well or thereabouts plenty of times, got further in the cups and reached the same stage a good few time. I don't want the guy back but he did a vastly, vastly, VASTLY superior job to Martinez. You say Moyes won nothing and I agree but Martinez also won sweet FA.

Well that say a great deal about how much you care about this club mate. The fact that you'd quite happily gamble the future of this club and risk relegation and all the nightmares that would follow such an event all for the idea that we MIGHT have a good cup run!

Here was me thinking that excepting mediocrity in either the league or cup was a bad thing. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for decent runs without the threat of relegation to go with it do you?!
Btw if all you care about is winning some games.

Both Martinez and Moyes had very similar win %. Martinez 42.7%, Moyes 42.08%.
You must be taking the piss at this stage. How about you compare the diffrent circumstances they were in when they took the job. Then look retrospectively at their forst three seasons and judge them accordingly?

Not sure why I'm still arguing. Both are gone. We have had two managers since.

Maybe Moyes was better, maybe not but both are certainly better than the last couple of régimes.

I won't include winning cup games against League 1 sides. What about the PL winning rate?

Still less crap than Koeman and fat man. Had some great wins and experiences like the win at OT, the Arsenal win at Goodison, Wolfsburg, cup semi. More than Koeman and Allardyce have done

It's subjective it looks likely bfs is the worst of the bunch at this rate.

Martinez got one good season and 2 crap full seasons.

Koeman got one good season and crap opening 7 games of his second season.
