Did he?If money was so tight then why did he waste £13.5 million on Niasse?!
As said many times, I was told it wasn't his idea.

His spending overall: go and check what we got from players brought in and then sold on. Not just Lukaku. Cleverley on a free and sold for £8M.Record fees for Wigan.
The money he spent, wasted terribly at both Everton and Wigan, His transfer "hit rate" is abysmal, just look at that signings. Christ the guy opted for Funes Mori over Van Dijk
Oh so you're happy to give him credit for the good signings like Lukaku (despite the fact that it's well known that Rom wasn't even Bobbys first choice) and Barry but not for the bad ones like Niasse? Showing yourself up as a hypocrite again mate, he either takes credit for the lot or none at all.Did he?

Yeah.
Always laugh the most at Ivan Ramis. £5.4m in 2012 for Wigan. Wow. Wasn't long before his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Boselli is another corker. 'Wigan fans voted Boselli as the club's worst ever foreigner' - Bobby paid a club-record fee for him, the striker left having never scored a league goal for them.

D'you think we'll see that profit on Koeman signings?
Some of them, if we wanted to sell, sure. We'd get big money for Siggerson, Kane and Pickford (I'm not claiming he'd be worth it BTW).His spending overall: go and check what we got from players brought in and then sold on. Not just Lukaku. Cleverley on a free and sold for £8M.

With Big Fat Ron's lads winning AGAIN last night and Southgate on the brink of a knighthood, it's funny how this international football makes all these club failures look like geniuses. Sam Allardicci should give it a go.
No, I'm happy to say he signed some rubbish. He did. Kone was a terrible signing. I'm just saying what I heard from within the club. As I said at the time: take it or leave it.Oh so you're happy to give him credit for the good signings like Lukaku (despite the fact that it's well known that Rom wasn't even Bobbys first choice) and Barry but not for the bad ones like Niasse? Pot-atoes / pot-a-toes.lol
Inheriting a team of world class international footballers and baby sitting them in semi retirement and cup football is one thing.
Managing a premier league football club is another. He relegated one, and set ours on a path we're still suffering from now. Niasse, McCarthy, Mori, Kone... christ. Big money at the time for Everton.
Pot-atoes / pot-a-toes.
You can either accentuate his time at Wigan as one of relegation, or the best period on the club's history they would never have got to in a million years with any other manager and securing their one and only trophy; similarly, you can say that he gave us our best ever footballing season since HKI 30 years earlier with a points tally that surpassed any season in the PL era (and will, sadly, not be bettered for another decade or more), or you sytate that he ran out of ideas and lost a fairly decent bunch of players due to stubbornness and turned us into mid-table fodder.
Let's put it this way: there'll be no shortage of takers for Roberto in the PL or abroad in the top flight.
If he's smart he will stay in international football for the rest of his career.
He doesn't have to make any transfers, the players aren't with him long enough to realise he's a tool and all the players he has at his disposal receive top notch coaching year round from managers that are much better than him.
What a dream job he's got going on there.
You'd never get over £200M back. Never. Some of them, if we wanted to sell, sure. We'd get big money for Siggerson, Kane and Pickford (I'm not claiming he'd be worth it BTW).
And we'd get decent money for Lookman, Vlasic, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Onyekuru and DCL.....
The only player Martinez player we made a decent profit on was Lukaku. You'd never get over £200M back. Never.
