He's not getting the Barca job. And he was never getting the Real one either. He desperately wants back into club management and is making sure his name is linked with the vacancies at any known club. Even saw him connected with Celtic not long ago FFS, he'd seriously have people think he'd go to that pub league just to make sure people haven't forgotten his name.

Martinez always seems to land on his feet, how he got the Belgium job after leaving a nuclear winter behind at us still has me perplexed.
Still, I find this unlikely given that the following statement will have had to be made in a Barcelona board meeting:
Barca president: "gentlemen, we have just been trounced 4-0 by La Roja Mierda, therefore I propose we appoint Roberto Martinez. A result as shameful as this cannot possibly occur under his skilled management and tactical nous (only if you ignore the fact that it's happened twice already and in one of those games, Lucas Leiva was effectively playing upfront).
Such is this man's skill at man management and cone laying, the fact that his experience at club level does not extend beyond Tom Cleverly and Arouna Kone will not be a problem, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will adapt to his methods almost immediately.
He will lead us to glory, namely our domestic cup! (although we will have to accept that the rigours of pursuing this competition will negatively impact on our league performance and we will be relegated in the same season)."

Still find it funny how everyone brings up him getting relegated with Wigan as if keeping them in the prem for 3 years prior to that isnt an accomplishment for Wigan (as you can see what's happened to them since he left). Not to mention winning a trophy. He'll do fine with talented players
