Just a reminder that if you are defending Martinez time at Everton you are saying it is acceptable for Everton to be the same standard as West Ham and Newcastle. If you want Everton to win things again Martinez was not good enough for us.

Nobody is saying anything of the sort though (well one person might be..)

I think most who will back him are just saying that a manager can have a bad time at one club and still be a good manager.

No one ever likes to say this but dear old Colin Harvey ranks among our worst ever managers.

And whilst Howard is rightly regarded as one of our two greatest managers, his other two spells were pretty dismal and had they been under the auspices of anyone else, that fellow’s name would be up there as well.

I’m just sayin’ :(

Yeah HKIII was one of the worst times supporting us for me. Everything was a shambles. Made worse from having a bit of genuine hope before the season started.

I think his failures with Belgium are starting to paint the picture that he isnt that good. Losing to France isnt necessarily a knock but they also had a lot of fortune in beating Japan and were battered by Brazil but won because of the individual talent of Courtois and KDB. The Switzerland collapse is a complete embarrassment. Hard to paint his time there as positive given the players available to him.

RM’s record is quite volatile due to his playing style. He can have an extremely good season and a year later his team may end up mid table or lower. He is not the one who will tinker his style of play based on the players. However, with the right players, he can outperform. A bit like Brendan Rodgers tbh.

Only on the internet could people talk/argue about this like it's actually happening/happened.

and I'll only ever really be arsed about what he achieved in his time here, which was very, very little in reality.

Their careers have taken different paths from when they were in charge of the Merseyside clubs. They both took a safe option.

Think in the great scheme of things Rodgers will go on to be seen as the much better manager and will have the more successful career.
